States are creating their own OER hubs to curate and create
open educational resources to share with educators across their state and in
other states in a broad range of fields, including English Language Arts, STEM, and ELL.

We can not comment on the extent to which SEAs may have drawn on each
other's
resources before the CCSS, but it does seem to us that the context of shared standards, the rise of
open educational resources, and the ubiquity of technology enables the sharing of information and instructional
resources between and across SEAs.
In
other news, 14 states have launched #GoOpen initiatives to support school districts as they transition to using
open educational resources (openly licensed materials that educators can share, reuse, and adapt), and 31 districts have committed to replacing at least one traditional textbook with an
open educational resource within the next year.
Athabasca University has announced it will not renew the Access Copyright license and in doing so says they plan to «make more extensive use of
open educational resources (OERs), material such as lectures, texts, lessons and podcasts produced by
other universities and made freely available for use.
