Since I've been on a
Paleo Ketogenic diet, I've been eating a lot of
foods that
others would consider unhealthy.
However, fish oil is still much more processed than meat, vegetables, and
other «
paleo»
foods.
The difference between
other «diets» and a
Paleo diet is that the whole premise of eating
Paleo is to feed your body nutrient dense
foods.
In comparison to most
other nuts, walnuts are high in omega - 3 fatty acids which makes them a great
food to incorporate into a
paleo diet to balance out omega - 6's from meat.

In Tuesday's post I talked about the biggest mistake I see a lot of people make with their diet, which is basically that they're not eating «real
food», but instead consume mostly evolutionarily novel
foods and spend their money on supplements, shakes, «
Paleo» bars, protein powders, cleanses, energy bars, and
other food items that are typically marketed as quick and simple solutions that will make you healthier, slimmer, and / or more energetic.
He postulated that the reason we don't tolerate grains and
other foods that are not
Paleo so well is not because we can't digest them, but because we're missing the crucial gut bacteria needed for their digestion.
Many hunter - gatherer cultures discovered by Weston A. Price thrived on diets comprised of grains, dairy and
other foods not considered
Paleo with virtually no disease.
So, work on good gut health (See Probiotics) and you will be able to safely enjoy grains and
other foods not
Paleo given you don't have
food intolerances to them for
other reasons.
On the
other hand, it does not mean that people who do not consume grains eat low carb as various

other diet that requires you to eliminate whole
food groups.
(The
other major difference we have with Dr. Cordain is his exclusion of starchy
foods from a «
Paleo» diet, even though starchy tubers have been part of the ancestral human diet for 4 million years.
There's virtually no nutrient important to human health that you can get from grains, legumes, and dairy that you can't obtain by eating from the list of approved
foods, and the
Paleo Diet has been shown to stabilize blood sugar, balance energy levels, fight inflammation, improve sleep, and have a host of
other health benefits.
A growing body of scientific evidence supports a
Paleo - style diet based on the
foods eaten by our ancestors — free of processed and refined ingredients and
other by - products of modern
food production.
Some supplement brands advertise
Paleo ingredients, implying that they're derived from the approved list of
Paleo foods or have an affiliation with a specific, branded
Paleo diet, and
others simply argue that their product is in line with caveman eating guidelines.
