I felt that I could still redeem my miles for domestic
flights and certain business class
awards at reasonable rates while using
other means to earn and redeem
awards with
partners like Lufthansa and Singapore.
And because British Airways Avios
partners with Alaska Airlines and is a distance - based
award program, you can book one of these non-stop
flights from almost any West Coast gateway for just 12,500 points one - way vs. 40,000 miles through some
other programs.

flight, but if you want to hop around Europe, Australia or some

You can still book
award flights on these
partners by searching for
award availability on
other Oneworld airlines» websites; via ExpertFlyer; or by calling AA and seeing what's available.
For example, you can redeem British Airways Avios for
awards on the airlines» own
flights and those of its Oneworld or
other partners.
Although British Airways does not pass on fuel surcharges for American Airlines
flights within North America, they unfortunately do add charges for
award tickets between the US and Europe on American Airlines and most
other partner flights.
Considering the fact that United does not pass on carrier imposed fuel surcharges for
