NEW YORK — An undercover FBI agent who snared Malcolm Smith and
other politicians in a
public corruption scandal posed as a wealthy investor of Indian descent named Raj who promised to grease wheels into City Hall and beyond, sources said.

other reforms that can be achieved with a GOP Senate, and he said a
corruption scandal involving Republicans in the state Senate stronghold of Long Island could spur them to action in the new session.

other a trial in Hartford Superior Court — relating to the clean - election program established a decade ago by the Democrat - controlled General Assembly after a
corruption scandal sent Republican Gov. John G. Rowland to federal prison.

other politicians to learn from this sentence that
public corruption will be punished.»

public perception of
corruption were «not out of kilter» with
other common law countries, and could be explained by recent
scandals in Parliament, the BBC and
other institutions.
