Romance and Pulp Fiction (the first two I watched back to back one weekend afternoon, after my friends learned I'd never seen a Tarantino
film; I had heard he'd won the Palme d'Or, but didn't know he'd made any
other movies) demanded we familiarize ourselves with their influences:
film noir, Howard Hawks, Jean - Luc Godard (one of our favorite pass - times was driving around to all the video stores in town looking for a copy of Breathless.

other Disney
film that features a love story (and almost all of them do) features the beginning of the
romance as well as its inevitable conclusion.
(Not that Disobedience necessarily has to be compared to
other films about lesbian
romance, but the similarities are there — or, in this case, aren't.)
Agassi (The Handmaiden, Park Chan - wook, 2016) While most of the
other films on this list aim for subdued minimalism, this
film sounds the call for maximalism loud and clear, marrying a delightfully twisted narrative with the most pleasurable
romance of the year.
Just how well Just Wright works formula tropes is highlighted by the
other chick flick of the week (and, seriously, Fox Searchlight — way to preordain the underachievement a so - deemed «urban»
romance with genuine, potential cross-demo appeal by scheduling against a
film that on the surface looks more broadly mainstream), Letters to Juliet.

romances and social statuses are of chief interest to the series and their experiences with both involve the
other young personalities from the
