I've also come to personally know and like many of the people now running HISD's Nutrition Services department, as well as many
other school food professionals around the country.

school food professionals rolled up their sleeves earlier this month at a roundtable in Oakbrook Terrace to define the problems facing
school meals.

school nurses and

professionals aren't aware of the potential harm of rewarding kids with
food, so GET THE WORD OUT!!
Continuing medical education programs such as Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Lives (Harvard
School of Public Health) and
Food as Medicine (Center for Mind - Body Medicine) are now educating more and more physicians and
other health
professionals about the impact changes in the kitchen can have on chronic disease prevention.
The audience for the Institute includes
school food program directors, managers, and production / service staff; teachers of health, family and consumer sciences, physical education and biology; child care providers;
school nurses; and
other professionals working to improve the nutritional health of Massachusetts»
school children.
I hope this interview encourages
other veterinary
professionals to talk openly about the pet
