It is L shaped that is Open to entry then only one wall —

fireplace (has approx 2 feet on each
side of fireplace.
This
side of the room (from the opening into the kitchen) is deeper than the
other side, so the console was added to «bump» the sofa forward, so that everything centers on the
fireplace / focal point.
Normally, one would put a
fireplace on that wall but the
fireplace is going on the
other side of the room.
I love the idea
of adding a window - seat on the
other side of the living room (instead
of flanking the
fireplace).
