For the purposes of AITSL Assessment for Migration a special education teacher (not elsewhere classified) is a specialist qualified teacher for working with students with particular learning difficulties not described in
other special education teacher occupations (special needs, hearing impaired, sight impaired) in primary, middle and secondary schools.

If I could incorporate the team teaching idea, by just combining two classes, I could have access to two classroom
teachers (me and one
other), a

For students who struggle,
special education teachers, speech pathologists, and
others are often involved.
But like
other areas of Virginia, the two school districts that occupy this impoverished stretch of shoreland also need
special education teachers.
The team includes a

other support as needed.

Those suggested outside of a district include: legislators, members of state boards of
education, and
other policy makers; business and professional leaders; community leaders and members; medical personnel; social psychologists; persons having the responsibility for
teacher preparation in general and
special education; curriculum and textbook consultants; visionaries and futurists; and theorists and researchers.
While more families are attracted to charters for their typically smaller campuses with science,
special education, alternative classes and
other themes, those in charge of traditional schools and
teachers unions are concerned about losing so many students.
Yet schools still report vacancies in STEM fields more than
others, as well as
special education and bilingual
teachers.

While such individualized instruction is typical in

other situations that a

In my experience as a former
teacher, I was able to manage a class of 30 + honors students with ease, had some trouble with classes of 25 general ed kids, and struggled mightily to keep control of a class of 12 - 15 students with a history of behavior problems and
other low - level
special education needs.

One method is to recruit more individuals who would substitute teach with students with
special needs and the
other method is to encourage existing substitute
teachers to take on more
special education assignments.
Instead, what interests me is the fact that these cuts — coupled with
other challenges that
teachers faced in 2011 — targeted students in poverty and students with
special needs, that they targeted arts and physical -
education programs, and that they severely disrupted school processes as one seismic change after another was proposed.
As the
special education teacher put it,
teachers «don't hesitate to ask somebody else [and
others don't] hesitate to help them out....
Other training options include additional training days for advanced Tough Kid strategies and / or training for
special audiences (e.g., school leadership, behavior specialists,
teachers of students in
special education who are in self - contained classrooms or have EBD diagnoses, etc.).
