We've showed up because Iron Man was a fun superhero flick in an era where
every other superhero flick determined that emo moodiness and edgy rebooting was the way to go.
The «Deadpool» series is refreshingly different from
any other superhero flick on screen today.
For the time being, let us count on the two
other superhero flicks — «Thor: Ragnarok» releasing in October and «Spider - Man: Homecoming» coming out this July.
Man of Steel is a good film, however doesn't reach the heights of
some other superhero flicks out there.
That means it's surpassed the opening weekends of nearly all of Marvel's
other superhero flicks, including The Avengers: Age of Ultron, both Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and solo vehicles like Captain America: Civil War, Iron Man, and Thor: Ragnarok.

You may or may not agree with me on this point but when compared to the trailers of the
other superhero films of the summer — «Thor,» «Green Lantern,» and «Captain America: The First Avenger» — X-Men: First Class was outclassed (I'll admit some bias as I was underwhelmed by the last few X-Men
flicks [«X-Men Origins: Wolverine» and «X-Men: The Last Stand «-RSB- too).
We can expect further details on what
other additions will be included as the release date draws nearer but for now it's just nice to know there will be more to look forward to this summer than
superhero popcorn
flicks and swimming pools.
The newest movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, «Avengers: Infinity War,» might be launched later this week at the heels of the worldwide blockbuster, «Black Panther,» including any
other flick to the
superhero franchise.
Sam Raimi imbues his comic book type
superhero with his knack for camera angles, montages and
other tricks of the filmmaking trade, making Darkman a stylishly dark action
flick.
Deadpool's massive success was in large part due to its irreverence for its own genre, its willingness to take shots, some raunchier than
others, at
superhero flicks in general.
Despite my grouchiness about the whole HYDRA thing, in all
other respects, Captain America is a perfectly enjoyable
superhero flick with parts that can legitimately be called terrific, and an excellent portrayal of a truly iconic hero.
In another summer dominated by
superhero flicks, it's always nice to have
other options.
Though Deadpool is not quite compelling enough in terms of narrative significance and character depths, it still captivates and surprises the audience because the movie commits to its nature and is so self - aware and meta, standing out from
other conventional
superheroes flicks.
