I can't tell you how many people come into our store, not even realizing that anything
other than WAX exists — I call it a necessity for scenarios like cabinets, an every day table, vanity and desk tops, kids furniture... Topcoat is like brushing on water — no need to thin, it dries quick, leave a mild satin finish, and cures to a harder finish than wax.
So you could let the wax cure, paint over it with AS paint then seal it with something
other than wax.
I used pure honey and everything held together well, but... perhaps I should have used something
other than wax paper?
