In January, Ed asked me (and a few
other friends) to do some
volunteer ministry
leadership at Two Rivers Church where he serves as the interim pastor.
Susan and the
other volunteers guide adults with disabilities in opportunities to give back to their community, build
leadership and decision - making skills.

Because you may not have much actual work experience, you'll need to be able to explain how your
other experiences (like your training / education,
volunteer work, or
leadership in extracurricular activities) have equipped you with the hard and soft skills you'll need to do the job well.
Other students can benefit from including a «
Leadership» section after their «Work Experience» to highlight their involvement in
leadership programs or
volunteer work, or to mention any positions they held within extracurricular activities.
According to most resume guides, experiences can include
other volunteer works, internships, pertinent
leadership experiences, and
other extra-curricular activities.
Project work, tutoring, appointments,
leadership,
volunteering and
other extracurricular activities are great places to start finding points to achieve this.
Fill employment gaps with relevant experience and skills gained from doing
volunteer work and your involvement in
other activities — parent council, community service, school
leadership activities, coaching, tutoring, seminars / workshops, sport interests, hobbies (building things), self - directed study, etc..
Experience in
volunteering and community outreach; experience in
leadership roles and working independently, a solid academic background, and most importantly, a desire to learn about the world and serve
others.
Develop a persuasive resume by emphasizing your strengths including academic accomplishments and qualifications,
volunteer and community involvement, the technical and practical skills you have acquired,
leadership roles, part - time jobs, travel and any
other relevant activities.
You have to make sure that you include your
leadership experiences,
volunteer jobs, and
other significant information to show your special skills as a good leader.
Documenting
volunteer work will show work ethic, commitment to your community, as well as your
other talents like sports, organizing events, and
leadership which can come in handy in a teaching position.
