There's no denying that the early Christian apologists (Justin Martyr and
others) made up that
whacky «diabolical mimicry» notion — saying the the devil caused what looks like plagiarism in reverse; so it's pretty obvious those old Xtians were trying to explain away something that would normally look ridiculous.
