others all sin leads to death not just the big ones because we all are sinners. All have gone astray none are righteous.I believe the worst sin is pride idolatry is the first commandment we set ourselves as Gods.Regardless of what the sin is, our hearts are condemned by our pride. It wasnt the sin of homosexuality or sexual deviance that destroyed sodom. It was there pride and it is one of our biggest stumbling blocks in our christian walk or it certainly was for me.We look at the story of the adulterous woman and we think adultery is a terrible crime but the story is for our benefit to show that we all are sinners that Jesus does nt condemn us but came to save us.And when Jesus says go and sin no more he was not only talking to the woman but everyone else that was around
judging her for her sin its a universal message that we all need to
see that we all are condemned because of our sin that Jesus came to save us and that we turn from our sin and follow him.Because he is the way the truth and the life.brentnz

Jeremy I believe you answered the question in another discussion why God seemed evil by punishing
other nations i prefer the word you used which is judgement.God weighs up the hearts and then
judges fairly thats not evil in fact he weighs up all the factors before he makes his decision and his decisions are perfect and wise. When he commanded Israel to wipe out
other nations it was Gods judgement on these nations because of the evil they had committed in alot of ways its exaggerated because they did nt have Christ to shield them like we have if anything it shows how merciful God is towards us today. In those days gods judgement was quick and immediate. What happened to Israel when they broke the laws God gave them they immediately fell into judgement often resulting in many deaths to there own people until the sins of the people were dwelt with.So even for Gods people it was a conditional on there attitude and actions towards God.Again we
see God is merciful to these previous nations that were destroyed as Christ after his crucifiction went and preached to them giving them the opportunity to repent so again we
see God is still merciful. His word is true The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.

Phrygian to me i sense that you are struggling with issues in your mind that you cant reconcile and these issues are affecting what you believe in your heart and therefore your faith in God.I had something similar happen to me recently regarding the story of the demon possessed man at one point the demons begged Jesus to cast them into the pigs does that mean that Jesus was implicated with the work of satan. It cast my mind into doubt and then i began to question who God is.I prayed and sort the holy spirit for an answer the answer i got was that Gods character never changes he is always holy righteous and sovereign why else would satan ask for his permission. So the answer was that he allowed satans purpose to prevail so that we can
see that satans intention is always to destroy it may well have been that the pigs were his anyway. As they were for the gentile nations who offered the pigs to their demon Gods.Just as satan can not change who he is the destroyer the thief the liar God can not change who he is when we realise that despite what we
see going on in the world God is still the same yesterday today and forever. The time is coming when those that have hurt
others will be
judged for there wickedness as we serve a holy and just God.Just as it was in the times of Noah so it is with this this generation that as the wickedness reachs its zenith then the Lord will return to
judge the nations. He is coming again and we need to be ready it is not a time to be caught sleeping.brentnz
