They are both SEC homers, so they obviously have no love for the Big 12, and especially
OU.
OU allowed five yards per play to Texas Tech in a big win and held WVU (4.3) and Tennessee (3.3) to paltry per - play averages.
I think
OU's biggest problem isn't as much coaching as it is they don't recruit (sign) defensive players that are at
OU's stature.
But if
OU can keep Mayfield upright, there will be opportunities.
As much success as
OU has had with the TE position, I don't know why Norman isn't one of the top destinations for TE talent.
Most of
the OU rushing attack is Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon, combining to average 24 carries for 147 yards.
OU quarterback Baker Mayfield probably isn't going to avail himself to that many hits.
OU with Murray may be a better match up against us than Baker Mayfield.
Since Texas, the average score of
an OU game has been Sooners 58, Opponent 13.
OU and Georgia really don't have any history, so my guess is you ruffled a few feathers with expressing your confidence in
OU against the Dawgs, which drew their retaliation (justifiably), which I'm guessing drew more ruffling on your part, which then escalated and led to your being banned.
While it was clear all night that Young's perimeter shooting wasn't there,
OU still had this game but let it slip away.
Even hitting the player can have positive effect if the ball ricochets back to

How many times has Okie State,
OU, K - State etc has a great QB followed by an even better one.
This could be a barn burner and should serve as a feather in the cap of either an undefeated Baylor with an actual, quality win or
an OU that could eventually have as good a résumé as any one - loss team outside of Tuscaloosa.
KSU's pass rush is possibly better than
OU's in passing situations, but the Wildcats affirmed the blueprint for stopping Baylor.
I noticed it mainly when I went back and watch
OU vs OSU.
West Virginia has played well against two of the four best teams in the country (
OU and Alabama), No. 25 TCU has passed the tests it's been given, and both No. 21 Oklahoma State and No. 23 Kansas State created opportunities to beat Florida State and Auburn, respectively.
Other assistants showed films of
OU players running the USC offense, while Oklahoma's players sat attentively and shouted, «I've got him,» «Direction,» «East,» «Cover,» «West, West.»
I watched the Xavier and Kansas games, it was similar to our two games against
OU when it felt like every shot was automatically going in.
Oklahoma has moved the ball just fine, but this game represents the stiffest test for both
the OU offense and the TCU D.
If the TCU 4 -2-5 isn't the perfect defense for stopping a spread -»em - out attack,
OU's hybridized 3 - 4 might be.
Mayfield finished
OU's Sugar Bowl win against Auburn with a season - long passer rating of 196.39, unofficially.
Some relatives of mine were the type of obsessive
OU fans that made me both revere them and despise them.

OU and Texas in 1984, and people talked about the Sooner Schooner's premature celebratory arrival onto the Orange Bowl field (and subsequent penalty) for years.
OU and West Virginia have faded significantly but are still in good shape overall.
Outside linebackers Eric Striker and Geneo Grissom have combined for seven tackles for loss and five passes defensed in four games, strong safety Quentin Hayes has three sacks, and linemen Chuka Ndulue and Jordan Phillips are giving
the OU line a play - making presence it hasn't had.
Mayfield's year was remarkable, and we probably would have talked about it more if
OU hadn't started the year 1 - 2 and been quickly excised from Playoff contention.
A former walk - on at Texas Tech, Mayfield started as a true freshman in Lubbock in 2013 but didn't get a scholarship and transferred to
OU.
Tight end Blake Bell got involved against Tennessee, catching three passes for 52 yards, but for the most part
OU's passing game has consisted of the three wideouts above.
Just as
OU has had far more success than UT the last decade.
OU coach Bob Stoops recently said Mixon would've been dismissed from the team if the punch had happened in 2016 instead of 2014, but Mixon suited up on Monday all the same.
That's like comparing UT and
OU.
Switzer thinks Houston joining the Big 12 would «make it tougher on Oklahoma, without a doubt,» and went into some depth on why he doesn't think

When was the last time
OU blew out the Longhorns?
Last year
OU was 10 - 0 but, with Penn State and Minnesota on the schedule this fall, it will have a hard time duplicating that.

With
OU's offense on the field in New Orleans, a loud swath of fans started to chant, «He hits women!
Clemson's offensive line made his big night against Perine and the Sooners possible by clearing the space that ensured Gallman was further downfield before contact, on average, than
his OU peer (though a leg injury to Perine helped as well).
Allen has a Jamarcus Russel arm and the same accuracy as a high school QB Darnold might not be there and seems to have «bad Eli» type of turnover tendencies and a long wind up Rosen seems like a stuck up punk with injury problems but a talented arm (Jay Cutler) Mayfield — played in
OU spread offense which makes every read easy with simple short completions
Of course, Texas Tech isn't bad (S&P + gives the Horned Frogs only a 64 percent chance of winning), and after getting by Baylor (89 percent), they would only have about a 46 percent chance of beating
OU.
That was confusing, considering that the Tigers have one home win against a CFP top - 15 team, while
OU has three (and two were on the road).
I was wondering how good
OU TE Mark Andrews would look in red and black.
Remember that as good as Oklahoma has been in the last three years, the combined
OU - Texas score for the last three years is 93 - 90.
Beat MD soundly to start the season... same for Tulsa... win at home two hard games to USC and TCU (we might lose the TCU game after an excessive high from USC, if we lose to TCU we bounce back and beat K St, if we beat TCU we read or press clipping an get a L handed to us in Manhattan)... we lose to
OU, ugh, I hope I am wrong... and then finish strong with close games at Stillwater and Lubbock that are W's... and lay the wood to Baylor, ISU and put up a huge payback whomping on KU Thanksgiving weekend in Lawrence (which seems odd for UT to play outside of Texas that weekend.)
Without a Big 12 title game,
OU would almost certainly be in the CFP at 11 - 1 — those three top - 15 wins would be quite the card to play.
He did just that at Big 12 Media Days this week, telling Carey Murdock of Sooner Scoop that

OU's odds of finishing with one loss drop from 66 percent to about 36 percent because they have only about a 55 percent chance of winning said game.
But then their paths diverged —
OU never lost again and won the Big 12, while Auburn fell into the mushy middle of the SEC, with everyone except for Alabama.
All of that despite Texas having 3 consecutive 7 - loss teams and
OU winning the conference twice and even going to the Playoff.
