But come Christmas, I had to bake a few
cookies to get in the spirit
of the season and this one recipe that Epicurious kept posting on its Twitter feed
at regular intervals just called
out to me.

Cut
out shapes with
cookie cutters and bake
at 350F for approximately 12 minutes or until the edges
of the
cookies start to get a light golden brown.
Roll
out the
cookie dough about 1/2 cm thick (Note 2), cut
out the
cookies with a
cookie cutter
of your choice, and place them onto the baking tray, leaving
at least 1/2» (or about 1.5 cm) space between them.
It ranks high alongside him offering me the very last chocolate chip
cookie, allowing me to pick
out most
of the furniture and decor for our house, and telling me everything is 100 % taken care
of when I opt to take a supremely long shower

at first, seem underdone when they come
out of the oven.
I came across the super neat line
of freeze - dried fruit powders over
at Nuts.com and immediately knew that I MUST use them to try
out a meringue
cookie.
Alternatively, measure
out 2 teaspoons
of dough
at a time, roll it in your hands until it's round and arrange the
cookies onto the
cookie sheet.
Or have you used a margarine (whatever was on sale) with
out even looking
at the percent
of vegetable oil and your
cookies didn't bake up the same as the last batch you made?
Your comment on sitting
at the computer thinking
of chocolate and aimlessly clicking made me laugh
out loud, because I had just finished eating a chocolate chip
cookie while clicking on all the (way too many!)
I must admit that these tartlets had mixed reviews
at my house, being deemed «too chocolatey» by the person who picks the chocolate chips
out of the chocolate chip
cookies (husband), and thoroughly enjoyed by another who was in the throes
of some serious chocolate cravings (me).

I had a bit
of a false start with this recipe after I tried a recipe for baked donuts and they came
out looking like mini footballs, but I think the donut recipe was
at fault, because since then I've used this egg replacer powder in all sorts
of cakes,
cookies and brownies and it's worked well every time.

I'm not afraid
of cooking
at all... and used to make THE best chocolate chip
cookies out there (pre-Paleo)... so not having a good go - to
cookie recipe has been interesting, to say the least.
1) Melt butter 2) Dissolve sugar in melted butter 3) Mix sugar butter mixture with self - raising flour until homogenously mixed 4) Knead
cookie dough with your hands on a cool, flat surface, using a rolling pin to flatten it to 0.7 cm thickness 5) Use a round
cookie cutter to cut
out round pieces 6) Arrange the
cookie dough pieces on a greased baking tray 7) Bake
at 200 deg cel for 8 — 10 minutes or until they turn slightly golden brown 8) Spread dulce de leche on one
cookie, and cover it with another
cookie 9) Coat the sides
of the
cookie sandwich (the parts where dulce de leche is exposed) with shredded coconut
then again, if you don't like gingersnaps
at all, take
out the spices and there you have yourself a batch
of double chocolate chip
cookies:)
They came
out way to thick and turned into a scone sort
of cookie, which didn't taste good
at all.
Santa's Snack Pack Santa is always so busy
at this time
of year that he doesn't have time to eat all the
cookies that are left
out for him.
Sure there would be a gigantic mess
at the end
of it all, not even worth the

Instead
of going all chocolate chip
cookie, which would be super sweet, I went with the combination
of raw cacao nibs (not sweet
at all) and dried plums (a.k.a., prunes), which are just a little sweet, and perfect to balance
out the raw chocolate.
Directions: Rinse quinoa, allow to drain thoroughly, place in boiling salted water and simmer with lid on for 15 — 20 minutes, until tender / Remove from heat and let sit with lid on for 5 more minutes / Spoon and spread quinoa onto a
cookie sheet / Let it cool and dry
out a bit, then put quinoa in a large bowl / While quinoa is cooking, place squash ribbons and leeks on one or two
cookie sheets, drizzle with 2 — 3 T olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, toss and spread evenly across the pan / Roast
at 425 degrees for 12 — 15 minutes / When tender, remove from oven and let cool / My squash ribbons sort
of fell apart
at this point.
As for the
cookies, I'm fairly certain I've churned
at least 200
of these bad boys
out of my kitchen in the past week, alone.
So when I came across Elana's recipe for Sesame
cookies and was
out of tahini, I jumped
at the chance to turn them into peanut butter like
cookies.
I picked up a bag
of fantastic Pink Lady apples a few weeks ago, when my longing for rhubarb and spring was
at its height and the perfect tartness
of these apples helped, eaten
out of hand and as the star
of these bars from Dorie's
Cookies.
