If I'm going to my daughter's soccer game after work, I'm not going to Uber to work carrying a change
of clothes, a lawn chair and bag
of photo gear that I have to carry to my desk and keep there all day before carrying it all
out to an autonomous shuttle that takes me to the field, where I have to bring my
backpack with my laptop and files from work with me to sit in the rain at the game.
If you're having a year or two where you're making much less money than normal — say you're on maternity leave, you lost your job, or you're
backpacking around Asia — you might want to think about pulling some money
out of your RRSP.
NOTE: The following cities DO require a visa, such as a Schengen, in order to enter, some
of which have a longer application process, but
if you are able and willing, then they are great
backpacking locations and are simply too incredible to miss
out on.
