I used whole wheat (no rye on hand) and I tripled the vanilla
bean amount
for two reasons, my
beans were old and I'm sure lacking in potency and I had run
out of vanilla extract.
Seriously, if I get some black
beans out to put on my salad, she'll beg

of the can and just sit there and eat plain black
beans with a smile on her face.
I suggest using an oak smoked Doppelbach, it sounds like too much, however the bier itself it quite subtle and worked very well, I also added some aduki

of apple cider vinegar, and garnished with orange bell pepper to substitute
for out of season tomato.
