I've made DIY placemat pillows and pillows
out of cloth napkins for my home's living room.
You've probably seen other's make pillow covers
out of cloth napkins, but these are made from inexpensive tea towels I picked up at TJ Maxx the other day.
Not exact matches
I sometimes cop
out by citing my youthfulness and lack
of a house and fine china and
cloth napkins as an excuse to neglect hospitality.
Maybe it's making for «no straw» in your drink when you go
out, bringing your own bags to the grocery store, getting coffee or a smoothie in your own cup / jar, bringing your own silverware when you're
out and about, switching from paper to
cloth napkins, buying bread from a local bakery or making it yourself instead
of buying in plastic, switching to a menstrual cup or washable
cloth pads instead
of disposable, there's so many different ways to produce less waste.
I already do many
of these most
of the time, but plan to try switching to
cloth napkins, ditching paper towels, bringing my own take -
out containers, remembering to bring my coffee cup, and trying the DivaCup I've bought but am still a little timid to try.

cloths... I'm also going to try and start carrying my own coffee cup again, I got
out of the habit when I got to give up the diaper bag...:)
All
of this probably translates to more time on somebody's part, washing
out the re-usable containers and
cloth napkins.
As a family, we travel to potlucks, BBQs, and parties with
out own set
of plates and utensils (including
cloth napkins); however, I do recognize paper plates are part
of American culture.
Use live plants and flowers for decoration, make a
cloth pendant banner, provide plenty
of cloth napkins (set
out a basket to collect dirties).
The alternative to the plastic coated fabric if you are worried is to make a short stack
of these
out of any cotton fabric that simply can be washed like
cloth napkins and just laundered.
Still haven't sewn those
cloth napkins, but I have pulled that shirt
out of the charity bag to cut up for the
napkins!
There is a bit
of yellow in the plaid table
cloth and I love that the
napkins pull
out those yellow tones.
Most people will know to get
out the nice
napkins for guests, but the middle classes will ensure
cloth napkins are set for even the most simple
of suppers.
We already had plum
cloth napkins, a green runner, a set
of blue Denby salad plates and a set
of gold rimmed dinner plates, so we thought we'd just use what we had to start
out.
As for drop
cloths, they are perfect for so much, I started making curtains
out of them first and now have reusable bags for groceries,
napkins, and pillows.
She used
cloth napkins and had different
napkin rings so everyone knew which one was theirs, she only swapped
out the
napkins when they were dirty not at the end
of the meal.

Pull
out your
cloth napkins instead
of paper.
