Keeping politics
out of education reform isn't easy, but a Milwaukee partnership that includes UWM has been largely successful in doing that.
Pondiscio's piece, «The Left's drive to push conservatives
out of education reform,» has triggered an important conversation about race, power, politics, and school reform.
So when I read Robert Pondiscio's piece on how the left is trying to push the right
out of the education reform community, I couldn't contain my disbelief.
A new AEI paper by Jonathan Wai and Frank C. Worrell, «Fully Developing the Potential of Academically Advanced Students: Helping Them Will Help Society» argues that gifted students are often left
out of education reform conversations.

out in all schools in September, will be one
of the greatest challenges
of the next school year.

out of Albany that Gov. Andrew Cuomo has reached a tentative deal with lawmakers over the state budget and
education reforms, local educators are calling for an independent commission to help develop policy moving forward.
Rumours circulating in Westminster include the idea
of Justine Greening being moved

Local school board elections increasingly are becoming a national political battleground, as millions
of dollars in campaign cash pours in from
out -
of - state donors in the name
of education reform, indicates new research led by a Michigan State University scholar.
Accountability has been a central theme
of education reform for almost two decades, driven by the unchallenged central finding
of James Coleman's seminal 1966 study: Although some interventions are demonstrably more effective than others, there's no direct link between what goes into a school by way
of resources and what comes
out by way
of student learning.
Decisions on how much to spend on
