It wasn't perfect picture, but Deadpool managed to stand
out in the very much saturated field
of comic book movies by being thoroughly entertaining and remaining authentic in a way that no one thought possible.
The mere fact that a Suicide Squad
movie is coming
out next year is proof that Warner Bros. isn't afraid to dip its toe into the weirder corners
of the DC
comic book world.
The idea
of a horror
comic book movie seemed particularly neat, and I can only hope these reshoots will turn
out for the best.
Of course, the
movies aren't going to replicate the
comic book series note for note, so let's figure
out what they could use and what has to be jettisoned.
MCU entries have buckled under the weight
of much fewer characters, but if there's anyone
out there who can successfully manage a

Even by the standards
of the current run
of mediocre

book movies, this one stands
out for its egregious shoddiness.
As far as
comic book movie goes, this one deserves to be consider one
of the top to have come
out.
The 11 - foot CGI Hulk may look a little cartoonish, the addition
of rabid Hulk dogs is downright lame, and the use
of comic book panel editing is an acquired taste, but it still looks and feels like a superhero
movie, even if it didn't turn
out exactly the way we wanted it to.
There have been plenty
of missteps in the Marvel
movie world, and fans
of comic book films are quick to point them
out: X-Men 3, Spider - man 3, Daredevil (assuming it's not the Director's cut), Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four: Rise
of the Silver Surfer, Elektra, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (and now, most likely its sequel thanks to Darren Aronofsky's departure).
While Deadpool might appear to be yet another
comic book movie in the series
of seemingly endless
comic book origin stories, this
movie truly stands alone as unique and laugh
out loud funny.
Unfortunately, this doesn't stop him from being a big bore, as his battle with Superman turns into one
of the most drawn -
out, low - budget cringefests in the history
of comic -
book movies.
