Drop cloths from your local hardware
store are an excellent way to get a huge bunch
of fabric for cheap - this one cost me $ 17, and I could probably make 15 more tote bags
out of it.

Once I finally got
out of the house and got a chance for a little shopping /» me» time this weekend I was able to go to the
store and feel really confident about the * TWO * pieces I took home, because I knew what colors /
fabrics / weather I was looking for from the get - go.

I used an 18 ″ x 24 ″ sheet
of white foam board and cut
out the large piece
of gray felt I got from the
fabric department at the craft
store so that it would wrap around the foam board at least an inch on all sides.
You can make one really easily
out of just two regular bath towels or buy terry cloth
fabric from the
fabric store.
Take a trip down to the
fabric store and pick
out five yards
of either woven cotton (you will need to hem the edges to keep from unraveling) or fleece (no need to sew at all).
I made no sew liners
out of fleece that I bought from the scrap bin at my local
fabric store.
I had the idea
of using fleece as a backing and leaving
out the batting entirely, but every search I tried online said it wasn't a good idea and the lady at the
fabric store said it couldn't be done.
So many times I have gone into various
stores that sell maxi dresses that end up being completely see - thru in certain lights due to the thin, light
fabric, and lets just say I am certain many find this
out the hard way after already wearing the dress
out in the light
of day!

store chairs turned
out after stripping 7 coats
of paint off and recovering the seats in that pretty
fabric.
