I did today, which was
so awesome!!!! My blender was broken and sent back to repair,
so i had to do everything manually, from smashing the sweet potato & dates, crushing the
nuts (I used hazelnut) into flour (this one was hard,
so finally its more like bits...), and left
out for the agave syrup (was
so sweet for me already), though it was lots
of work but just
so great!
I didn't have enough Brazil
nuts to make a whole «cheese» portion,
so mixed it with cashews... i also had no nutritional yeast and (very uncharacteristically) ran
out of lemons - too many lemon and ginger waters!
I too am

I used loads
of nuts AND Love Grown Food's Power Os — that cereal is made partially
out of a bean blend (navy, lentil and garbanzo),
so you get even more protein!
so we had some hazelnuts we blended in the vitamix with filtered water to the point the vitamix got warm and filtered

of not filtered it but i like the filtered
nut milk with coffee) and mixed together, but it all lacked fiber,
so we used muesli (the perfect ingredient) to bulk up the mixture and used brown sugar to sweeten with all the other ingredients (i know the s word but i'm eating with a non-plant based eater).
Nut loaf can be
so dry but this was far from it yet it was firm and came
out of the mold perfectly.
Cream room temperature butter and brown sugar together for 5 — 8 minutes / Add egg & milk mixture (w / extracts) a little at a time until fully incorporated / By hand or with mixer on lowest speed, alternately add flour and buttermilk until just incorporated — don't overmix at this point for the tenderest cake / By hand gently stir in 2 — 3 cups
of rhubarb sauce
so that it swirls through the batter / Place in a 9 - inch square or 10 - inch round pan coated with just a little butter and flour / Sprinkle evenly with chopped almonds (or, use local hazelnuts instead, or omit the
nuts) / Bake at 325º for about an hour, until skewer comes
out clean when tested / Macrina Bakery dusts the cake with powdered sugar and coarsely chopped almonds / Cake is tender until completely cooled
so handle with care.

There is literature
out there on the internet by a few U.S. companies I have seen which say
so however on my travels throughout the Pacific and Asia I have asked this same question and all the growers have told me it almost doubles the reproduction rate and they get a higher yield

Almond butter is my favourite
of the
nut butters, and I had heard good things about Barney Butter
so I was keen to try it

While these are virtually fat free, I did test one batch
out with a tiny bit
of peanut butter and it gave it a more rich texture,
so I do recommend that (Or any

I did read the review that said these came
out crumbly and that it could have happened because sunflower seeds aren't as oil rich as
nuts so I added about a tablespoon
of coconut oil to compensate.
There were some minor changes in the recipe, mostly due to limitations
of my pantry: we do not have frozen apple juice concentrate here
so I just finely grated some apples and added a pinch
of sugar, let it sit for a few minutes to give the juice time to come
out; o) I also used fresh apple juice instead
of the water and didn't have any
nuts on hand (silly me forgot to check and realized the were all gone when I as in the middle
of baking)
so I just crumbled some Italian

of all.

nut free hemp (any) seed cream... to to turn it into yogurt / if you can't buy real Kefir Bacteria (Lactobacilli bacteria)- Its not dairy but is used to make milk into Kefir and after its used to turn milks into yogurt, you can strain
out the original chunks
of bacteria (which is what we do here in Greece and then put the Kefir in the freezer
so you can perpetually re-use it — while waiting for yogurt to become cheese.
Phew - there really is only
so many dried fruits and
nuts a girl can consume,
so it's a good thing I had this little beauty and a big glass
of the Super Green smoothie to hand for my post-work

I can't wait to experiment with different
nuts, dried fruits, and spices (I was
out of thyme
so I used dried oregano, which was awesome!).
There are
so many snack / energy bars
out there that are loaded with unpronounceable ingredients and tons
of sugar
so I'm happy to report that the three Nouri Bar flavors all have short ingredient lists with familiar items like
nuts, fruit and hemp protein.
They would NOT be too sweet if the
nut butter was pure
nut butter or you just cut
out some
of the sugar (or both — which is what I would do if I make it again)
so I'm giving the recipe 4 stars because 1) it's redeemable and 2) regardless
of the sweetness, I've managed to eat 4 small cookies quite happily.
Soaking the
nuts helps release some
of their excess oils, and dehydrating them dries them
out so they don't go rancid.
His muesli - habit can quickly get
out of control
so we generally try to make our own or we add our favourite
nuts, seeds and fruit to a store - bought muesli combination
of flakes, oats, buckwheat and rice puffs.
Both flavors were
so good, but the Dark Chocolate Mixed
Nuts & Sea Salt was
out of this world!
The problem is it's
so much easier to get Omega - 6 (
nuts, seeds, cereals,

of - the - box snacks...) than the not quite as easy to find Omega - 3 (flax, salmon, walnuts...)
so we end up
out of balance with way too much inflammation than our bodies really need to stay healthy.
My boys won't eat raisins or
nuts in granola
so I added more oats; we'll see how it turns
out Also, I didn't have nutmeg
so I used pumpkin pie spice instead
of the cinnamon and nutmeg (I do this often).
I had half
of a butternut squash in the fridge,
so we diced that and roasted it with the cauliflower, left
out the rosemary and used sage in place
of the mint (some slivered and cooked in the sauté pan, some flash - fried whole in olive oil for a bit
of crunch), and tossed in toasted walnuts instead
of pine
nuts.
** I live in Colorado and do not have air conditioner in my home
so my mixture was very runny and there was NO way I could spread and shape this mixture on any kind
of pan with
out sides
so I opted to use a
nut butter cup candy mold... worked like a charm!
Cinnamon brings
out the sweetness
of the
nuts, but I only add a dash
so that I can still use the butter in savory recipes.
The combination
of chia seeds, banana,
nut butter, flax seeds and hemp seeds makes this shake a fresh and satisfying recovery drink after an hour or
so of working
out.
Last year, I bought a bottle
of the Toffee
Nut syrup they use, thinking I could make my own (I didn't think to google it until now lol)... didn't work
out so well for me.
It is now widely available in many flavours and in both unsweetened and sweetened versions, however many
of these contain lots
of additives and stabilisers
so it is always best to make your own when you can (check
out my recipe for homemade
nut milk).
You can try with a small amount
of raisins and
nuts to test it, but again, I've never tried it,
so I'm not sure how it would turn
out.
