Parents either assume their child will grow
out of sleep problems or they feel there is no solution and they don't implement any interventions.

While there are certainly many people with serious
sleep problems whose account
of their suffering shouldn't be doubted and who need medical solutions, science suggests that there are also plenty
of folks with milder
sleep issues who would benefit from simply chilling
out and lowering their expectations.
With science showing
sleep deprivation creates a host
of negative effects, from decreased creativity to radically compromised mental performance (and that's not even getting into the physical
problems it causes), attending to your body's need for
sleep is always a good idea, but failing to get enough rest also exacerbates our tendency to get stressed
out, so it's even more important to pay attention to if you feel your mental health is getting a little shaky.
I lost a lot
of sleep after making those buys, so, I set
out to build a software product and a company to solve this purchasing
problem.
But, in my experience, sometimes the best way to keep communication healthy and open is to go to bed angry and then talk about it the next morning when you've had enough
sleep to know that leaving the milk
out in the car probably wasn't a veiled act
of aggression meant to symbolize every
problem in the relationship, but rather just the sort
of mistake anyone would make while distracted by a fascinating story on NPR.
Oftentimes, as you
sleep, your subconscious mind (or call it your Spiritual mind) sorts through the teaching to come up with insights you hadn't thought
of before, or solutions to
problems you couldn't understand, or things that you need to take
out of your sermon or Bible study lesson.
When I lie awake at night, it usually because I am trying to figure

problem or reviewing things I need to take care
of, or on occasion, if I can't
sleep, meditating.

out problems; it's helpful to write them down in a

A lot
of children tend to grind their teeth more whilst they are

In order to better help your child cope with the hard task
of becoming more independent and learning how to
sleep on his own, be sure that you take moments during the day when you are not in the throes
of working
out a
sleep problem to talk about it.

out of baby's room over many days.

out that has shown that teenagers who watch 2 or more hours
of television per day have higher rates
of mood disorders such as depression and

The vast majority
of parents, however, seek us
out for help with their children's
sleep problems.
If we let our kids» bedtime slip more than an hour, we risk getting
out of sync with our natural biorhythms and can create a
sleep problem that feels like jet lag.

of depression, eating
problems, or
sleeping too much or too little, it might be time to reach
out to a professional.
Check

problems, especially if he or she has been co
sleeping with you for some time already.
As with many
problems related to babies and
sleep, for now I will simply ride
out the fits
of crying each afternoon and hope my baby learns to fall asleep by herself as she gets older.
