Like another reviewer here commented (Petra) there was nothing quick about this 22 minute
chicken masala... By the time I was finished washing, slicing, cutting and cooking everything I was in about 3 hours... I doubled this recipe... It came
out very good looking just like the photo at the top... Some people here commented that the recipe was bland
so I added a 3/4 teaspoon
of both cumin and coriander powder to the sauce... Nothing bland about this... It was on the spicy side... Not marinading the
chicken in yogurt didn't make much
of a difference... I used
chicken tenders... When are they ever tough or chewy anyway...
You could always try and cut your
chicken in slightly bigger pieces
so that it's not dry when you take it
out of the oven!
I ran
out of chicken broth, I only had 4 cups,
so I substituted 3/4 cup
of water and 1/4 cooking sherry.
I'm actually not a big fan
of Chicken Cordon Bleu itself, but the recipe looked really satisfying,
so I made a few adjustment to suit my own tastes and love the way it turned
out.
If you do

chicken over 20 minutes before you take it
out of the oven.

chicken will already be cooked and you don't want it to dry
out, I would add it in the last 30 - 60 minutes
so that it heats up to the temperature
of the soup.

For all you carnivores
out there, I thought these were perfectly satisfying with veggies only, but if you want to swap
out some
of the veggies for cooked
chicken, just sub the same amount in ounces (
so if you decide to replace 3 oz
of veggies, use 3 oz

chicken in its place).

out of the

so I picked up a few portobello mushrooms and found this great recipe from Skinny Taste.
When I decided to make this dish to photograph, I didn't have any
chicken, but I was dying for my shot
of spicy sauce,
so I used the protein I had in the freezer, which turned
out to be pork belly.
When you lift
out the
chicken breast, allow any excess egg to drip off
of it
so there's only a thin layer
of egg.

I had done the
chicken breasts in the slow cooker with your method
so just got them
out of the freezer the night before and we were good to go.
But then I went for it with the cheese — Monterey Jack for to bring in the stretchy, gooey factor, but with a mild flavor
so that the boldness
of the blue cheese really stands
out against the spicy
chicken mixture.
I would try
out one
of their pasta's and make what I have on the Menu tonight; A Light Tarragon & Mint Pea sauced
chicken pasta with green beans and Roasted Broccoli =) My family Hates peas,
so I thought for a new introduction to Tarragon and peas, this might be a winner (I hope I'm right!)
Also, my kids aren't fond
of the tomato and onion pieces,
so I will sometimes take
out the
chicken, puree the soup with an immersion blender until smooth, and then add the shredded
chicken back in.
