I also tried to see what happens if I take out the clutch
line out of the cylinder while it was installed, while leaving the intake hose in.
We also put a second air tube into the graduated cylinder on the left, and we used this tube to suck some of the
air out of the cylinders.
The cam has a «bump» or «hump» in it which actuates the valves which allows air into and
exhaust out of the cylinder of the engine at the correct time so the engine will run correctly.
High performance camshafts are used that allow for aggressive intake and exhaust valve openings to boost the rate that air moves into and exhaust
moves out of the cylinder.
The LPG operators had
pulled out of the Cylinder Re-circulation Model policy (CRM) Implementation Committee as a result of what it described as «stiff resistance by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to its opposition to the classification of LPG filling plants in the country into high and low risk facilities.»
The piston begins to rise again in the cylinder forcing any remaining exhaust gasses to be
pushed out of the cylinder and into the exhaust manifold.
Don't forget you have to use that push to get the piston to make one more spin so it will exhaust the burnt air /
fuel out of the cylinder.
A DOHC design has multiple intake and exhaust valves per cylinder, providing more flow into and
out of each cylinder for greater performance
Since the valve stays open longer, the piston's upward movement forces some of the fuel - air mixture
back out of the cylinder.
Once you've done that, I would stop the engine and pull the spark
plugs out of those cylinders that are missing (and disconnect all 4 plug wires).
Before starting the car, I would leave the plugs out and crank it using the starter motor to blow any excess
oil out of the cylinders.
If it does it will put a LOT of pressure on the rings as the pistons try to
move out of the cylinders (the cylinders are going to displace something as they move out, and it's a lot easier to displace air than oil).
The greater surface area allows greater air / exhaust flow into and
out of the cylinder.
This allows for more air to be pushed into and
out of each cylinder.
Once you've done this, hopefully, you've ensured everything is
out of the cylinder and everything is clean.
The process of bringing stuff in and
out of the cylinder is called «breathing.»
To further increase horsepower, performance - oriented camshaft profiles were developed to allow more air in and
out of the cylinders, and to cope with higher engine speeds.
By letting more air in and exhaust
out of each cylinder, the multivalve engine provides extra power without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
By letting more air in and exhaust
out of each cylinder, the multivalve engine provides extra power without much sacrificing of fuel efficiency.
