Compared to the S90, the Polestar 1 is also very different dimensionally: It's 25.5 inches shorter, including 12.6 in removed from the wheelbase and another 7.9 in taken
out of the rear overhang for sportier proportions.
Not exact matches
A crisp line starting at the back
of the front wheel - cut at about wheel - center height runs
out in the skin
of the
rear door while another slightly rising crease begins at the bottom
of the front door and continues rising along the bottom
of the
rear - fender
overhang behind the wheelhouse.
Longer and wider than its predecessor, the wheelbase
of the new model has been extended by 60 mm (2.3 inches) to 3,105 mm (122.2 inches), while both the front and
rear overhangs are shorter, pushing the wheels further
out to the corners
of the car.
There's no split tailgate like there was on the previous Discovery (2004 - 2017), but you needn't mourn its passing because part
of the boot floor now folds
out,
overhanging the
rear bumper and presenting you with a handy perch for taking off your wellies.
The styling and packaging weren't to my personal liking, although the view from dead astern is certainly business - like — especially with zero
overhang, wide track, wide wheels and the twin exhausts poking
out from the middle
of the
rear apron.
Size-wise, the all - new K900 is longer and wider than its predecessor, while both front and the
rear overhangs are short, pushing the wheels further
out to the corners
of the car expressing more space along with improvement in ride quality.
The long bonnet (hood) and two - seater cabin create an instantly recognisable stance, while minimal front and
rear overhangs, combined with a wide track, appear to push the
rear wheels
out and enhance the extremities
of the bodywork.
For example, the short body
overhang at the front emphasizes the dynamic look
of the vehicle, while the roof line tapering
out gently towards the
rear and the long body
overhang on the
rear section, add to the stretched silhouette
of a genuine coupe.
