I think the problem we have here is that they are mostly stored
out of the refrigerator in the stores, and also where we live it is very humid..
Ideally, they should be kept
out of the refrigerator in a cool, dry, dark place not above 60 °F / 15 °C, which would fit the characteristics of a root cellar.
