Because of the usual and ongoing injury problems in the Arsenal camp, the England
squad at Euro 2016 has way fewer Gunners in it than it would normally have had, so Kieran Gibbs, Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck and Alex Oxlade - Chamberlain are all having to watch the tournament from the comfort
of their sofas rather than hoping to help the three lions
out on the pitch.
Mind you, Southampton lost 8 key players plus a manager in the transfer window, they now sit fourth, 3 pts ahead
of us.We can no longer use injuries as an excuse
because we have always had them, and if wenger was a smart manager, he would have addressed this problem by having better
squad depth, but instead he chose to send a defender
out on loan despite being short in numbers at the back, foolishly chose not to sign a defender despite an array
of good defenders on show at the world cup.So now who is to blame?I guess it's anyone or anything but Wenger.

of ability, just like Gnabry, I think
because both had a run with the senior
squad they feel like they are big enough to.command regular shirts where they play which is not the case, you have to earn the right to play on a Saturday afternoon, its never handed
out to you... all in all, its been a disastrous season for us
of you look at progress Te English players are making at Spuds whilst our» s sit on their asses earning ridiculous money for doing eff all....
i agree we also need to get rid
of Arteta, Diaby, Podolski and Campbell probably. This story worries me
because the
squad is overloaded with midfielders, yet we still need a top DM, the guys i've mentioned in midfield clearly don't come up to scratch imo.Another worrying developement is Wenger talking up Theo playing thru the middle, i sincerely hope this isn't another attempt at trying to get
out of buying a top CF, Theo's a useful player but hes not a real CF
It was footballing genius and I think that Tomas Rosicky, drafted in

Gibbs should be sold if West Brom come in with 10 million and if we somehow get rid
of Debuchy and sell Chambers and Lucas too plus the money for Szczesny we'll bag enough cash to buy a player or two who will improve the
squad without doing major damage,
because we had players with the numbers 1,2,3 and 10 either

its clear to all that even with a full

out its the right thing to do, we need a Klopp type manager full
of passion and caring manager, caring
because we have a few babies in the team that needs hand holding and cuddling
Yes, sometimes the players make individuals errors which can not be blamed on Wenger but Wenger is NOT giving us the BEST POSSIBLE CHANCE TO WIN EVERY GAME
because of his lack
of tactics, playing
out of form players, not rotating

3 League titles / 6 Fa cups and constant champions league last 16odd years
out of 19 also but no matter what anyone says his time as our coach has come to an end even if we win the league which in fairness we have a great shot so going
out of Europe could help us win the league for Wenger to leave on a high like fergie did... This has to be his last season in charge along with Stan the Conman... Money needs put into this
squad to get it to the next level and a different direction
because in all honesty when we beat Bayern they just did nt take their chances like they did last night and they already had a great
squad and added to it in the summer with Costa etc... we had a real chance this year if we had brought in more than Cech and that is Wengers fault!
our mental attitude, belief and motivation is what is really killing us, shame we do not have a manager who can make even the most average

In hindsight perhaps the youngster should not have played against Tottenham,
because as soon as he joined the Spain side the problem became more apparent and he was pulled
out of training and eventually dismissed from the
squad altogether.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety
of reasons, most importantly
because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style
of play has become a shadow
of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play
out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid
of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current
squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly
out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs
out wide, we've seen pace from the likes
of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play
of Monreal, but none
of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio
of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger
because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part
of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part
of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature
of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player
of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played
out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front
of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that,
of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one
of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one
of the most committed skill players we've seen on this
squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already
of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs
of the original Wenger offensive model
because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack
of mobility is an albatross around the necks
of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue
because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic
because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
I agree about Mustafi and the Cazorla link helped him
out and sometimes Granit does put the CBs under pressure
because he can't find a forward pass or is too scared too, but facts are facts Mustafi made 1 start at the 2014 WC & 2 sub appearances making a total
of 132 minutes only in the group before he got injured, I disagree he «helped» Germany win the WC as he simply didn't play enough and didn't play any knockout games so was only a
squad player who played 1.5 games in total, he can play well but tends to panick and finds himself
out of position ALL the time, he is a liability diving into tackles and trying to make interceptions he has no.
Kieran Gibbs was also missing from the match day
squad because of a knock picked up in training and that makes three defenders
out and three central midfielders in the shape
of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky, so these are two areas where the manager has to be especially cautious.
Now we face a prolonged period
out of the top 4
because of Wenger and the state
of this
squad.
Chelsea had the least injuries
out of any team in the entire PL this season, people keep claiming how they have great «
squad depth» and that was the difference but that is utter bullsh*t, they won
because their entire defence, DMF, and goalie missed about 5 games between them.
Chambers - Paid a lot
of money for a young player with little experience in regards First Team and Premiership games. He looked a good prospect and
because of injuries to the
squad he found himself playing very soon into his Arsenal career. This caught up with him a bit as did playing with different CB partners and filling in at full back.Form dipped and was
out of the side till a year long loan move to Boro.He was playing every week and despite them going down he was one
of their best and consistent players. He has been indifferent since coming back but has looked better in last few games he has played.I believe there is a very decent centre back in this player and would not describe him as a bad buy at all.
Because of the amount
of Arsenal players that have been in and
out of the treatment room and therefore the available
squad already this season, our new summer signing Calum Chambers has had plenty
of opportunity to impress Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal fans following his transfer from Southampton in the summer.
That same ol feeling that wenger is just f ****** with fans heads again... every idiot comment coming
out of his mouth suggests that he believes he has a good enough
squad to compete... And he is right
because 4th is his and boards objective... Anything beyond is a bonus....
Did this with van persie (who insisted to leave
because wenger would not strengthen the
squad) 3) Buys few good players and plays them
out of position — Arshavin, Ozil, etc rather than playing to their strengths.
(1) this
squad has way too many moving parts and very few
of our players are good enough at their preferred position let alone relying on them in whatever position Wenger and his magic eight ball decide in the tunnel prior to the game... when teams do this it generally signals issues within the club, much like Jose last year and Van Gael before him... no one gets settled, the chemistry is almost non-existent and if provides a built - in excuse when the team comes up short... these issues fall squarely on Wenger, both for his decisions regarding players coming in and for his inability to rid the team
of those players who aren't cutting it... in actually fact we have only 6 real starters on this current
squad and that's being generous (Sanchez, Ozil, Lacazette, Sead, Kos & Cazorla)... which is discouraging
because Cazorla is injured and might never play again, Sanchez is wanting
out and the club is lying to us about his injury status, Lacazette receives no service, Ozil is relatively disinterested
out there, Kos is getting up there and Sead is just trying to settle in... there isn't a single other player that would start regularly on any
of the other top 3 teams, which should be the standard... imagine this team moving forward if Wenger only sells before the window closes
What depresses me about watching them this year is how obviously unhappy the team is... there is little to no chemistry among these guys — which is dispiriting to see on a Spurs
squad... I think the big discrepancy in the home vs. road record is indicative
of that... it seems like they just run
out of gas and don't really rally around each other in the 4th quarter, particularly on the road... they still try
because there's a lot
of pride in them, but this team just doesn't really seem to believe in each other, if that even makes sense.
He was left
out of the
squad against Celta at the weekend, and it was just as well he brought his Dre Beats to Amsterdam,
because he was an unused sub in the win over Ajax.
As it stands, this
squad is fairly well positioned to compete for the Wenger Cup and make a deep run in the Europa, if and only if we play first stringers in Europe and use the bench for the League and FA Cups... that being said, and based on the fragility
of the manager and the team in recent campaigns, it's more likely that Wenger will focus on a top 4 finish and the FA Cup... while the reasons for such an approach may appear logical, it would confirm a rather disturbing trend and appear counter intuitive for any team which claims to have higher aspirations... I feel that Wenger simply can't afford to put all his eggs in the Europa basket
because if he fails the potential backlash could cripple any top 4 chances due to the aforementioned fragile psyche that tends to rear it's ugly head like our own personal groundhog day each and every February... furthermore, can you even imagine Wenger bringing in the necessary recruits to adequately supply top quality lineups in a Thursday / Sunday dominated schedule; based on everything I've seen in recent years, I can't see that happening... in fact, mark my words, it's more likely that we see Lacazette playing
out wide in Alexis's position with Giroud at striker, than we see Wenger make the necessary moves to right this ship... god, I hope I'm wrong but is it really that far - fetched considering what we've witnessed for past several years
We have a better
squad than most EPL clubs at the moment but we lack creativity just
because players are played
out of positions.
Time for some brutal honesty... this team, as it stands, is in no better position to compete next season than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition
of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release
of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a team that still has far more questions than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state
of affairs on a position - by - position basis... in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but in reality we have only 1 option with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid
of for years
because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest in, as they seem to have a pretty good history when it comes to that position... as far as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy
of our time and / or investment, as such we should get rid
of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid
of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan
out Chambers to see if last seasons foray with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction
of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return
of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort
of pie in the sky meanderings are indicative
of what's wrong with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base... in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition
of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions over the past 5 seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle
of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that player into the fold without any
of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous for (this kind
of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special players and certainly can't help make the player in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)... in order for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to striker, like we did in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign... with this in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his lack
of defensive prowess and provide him with the proper players in the final third... he was never a good defensive player in Real or with the German National
squad and they certainly didn't suffer as a result
of his presence on the pitch... as for the rest
of the midfield the blame falls squarely in the hands
of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start when none
of the aforementioned had more than a year left under contract is criminal for a club
of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul... for me it's time to get rid
of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just as much time on the training table as on the field
of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version
of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)... in their places we need to bring in some proven performers with no history
of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true quality at the striker position falls once again squarely at the feet
of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival
of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone
of Henry's quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand players
of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible when the business model was that
of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain over the line when he was being offered up for half the price he eventually went to Juve for, or that we've only paid any interest to strikers who were clearly not going to press their current teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part
of the facade that finally came crashing down when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center than a manager who has clearly bought into the Kroenke model in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore as the game has changed quite dramatically in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking in... so don't blame those players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness for several years when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet
of those who were well aware all along
of the potential pitfalls
of just such a plan but continued to follow it even when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
And bad thing i dislike about Wenger was lying to Arsenal fans during transfer wait till last minute and not bring in anybody and come
out with dishonest answers we did not find anybody in this transfer window or get somebody like Kim Kastrom who was never going to help improve a
squad because he had a bad back or keep bring in a bunch
of players whom work permit was going to be a biggest problem to get — i will not forgive him for those stuffs he used to do
Man City did everything but score, they are still the strong team
of the league
because they can still operate when Silva and Auego are
out and they have a big enough
squad to rotate and not allow tiredness to creep in.
You can't blame
squad deficiencies
because we have a better
squad of players than Atletic, Dortmund who keep
out performing us in Europe.
I must admit to being a bit fed up this week to hear that the Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere had been left
out of the latest
squad named by Gareth Southgate for the upcoming international break, and that is
because I think the three lions are crying
out for some
of the creative spark that Jack can bring as well as down to club loyalty and all that.
So Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal fans were very relieved to hear that Joachim Low would be leaving Ozil
out of the Germany
squad for the current round
of international games, not
because he was not playing well but
because the manager was well aware
of the amount
of football his star had already played and the danger
of him suffering from an injury or burn
out.
I believe Wenger reasoned that without being able to rotate players in the
squad,
because of lack
of depth, that the only course
of action was to go all
out for the EPL and forget the CL, and you can't argue with that logic.
They are top
of La Liga now but their president Josep Maria Bartomeu did not rule
out any more signings: «We are happy with the
squad that we have but if things can be done to improve then they will be done,
because we always aspire to more,» he said recently.
and for your information people just don't moan off the back
of a couple
of results they moan
because most times circumstances leading to the bad results could have been avoided e.g playing players
out of position to accommodate some players, not been prepared adequately for injuries we all know will happen, refusing to address the issue
of much needed back up and competition for the
squad..
Legend has it, that when Neville Southall started
out with Bury, he was banned from training with the rest
of the
squad because they were getting a bit despondent that he was ruining their shooting practice by saving everything thrown at him.
I raise the question above
because of a review I saw this morning on the Football Observatory site in which various player attributes are combined to work
out the worth
of the players and whole
squads.
It is absolutely pointless selling Henderson
because he is one
of the core players in the
squad... You don't sell your core central midfielder just like that... Most successful teams are always based around loyal hardworking central midfielders... Also with so many fixtures this year it is essential to keep the best established players in the team... He is by no means the best player in the
squad but he is a model professional just like james milner who I think should also be there
because he is one
of the most versatile players
out there who will vital in a year with european football... Selling them off will be reducing the depth
of the positions they play on the field
That's five players
out of a
squad that seem to be able to put any kind
of form together and with Ramsey it's questionable
because of his injury record.
on Tomas Rosicky... He will be back in full training this week, it is fantastic
because he has been
out for very long and it is good to know that a player
of that calibre is back in our
squad.
Puel was reluctant to be drawn on whether Mahrez was left
out of the matchday
squad tonight due to injury or
because he refused to travel.
