scares and the sort of shocks that don't feel extraneous, Goodnight Mommy is a must - see for anyone who appreciates sustained suspense, and who maybe doesn't mind a trip to a masseuse after to get all that tension worked

well yeah since critics are false advertising it saying it's the best thing that every happened and people are excepting to be
scared out of their minds over this movie and leaving disappointed, well the movie didn't scary me but it left me thinking and it did have it's chilling and creepy
moments that got under my skin a lot of times.
So many of those
moments where there's a shot of Michael Myers — like a wide angle — hanging
out behind the hedge row and how unnerving that was reminded me at something Carpenter was so good at outside of building
scares was building dread.
It Follows starts strong and shocking, the pace holding up as it progresses, peppered with unexpected
moments and
scares that will have even the most hardened of horror viewers jumping
out of their seat.
And make no mistake: The Exorcist is most definitely a horror film: though it may be filled with rigorously examined ideas and wonderfully observed character
moments, its primary concern is with shocking,
scaring and, yes, horrifying its audience
out of their wits — does mainstream cinema contain a more upsetting image than the crucifix scene?
There's not a lot of jump
out and
scare you
moments, but the suspense here is very frightening throughout as you just wait for something very bad to happen at any second.
I'll admit, sometimes I get nervous, have minor freak
outs, and get
scared, (the secret to success is to carry many pairs of fresh underwear), but as I emerge, uncut and stronger, those
moments become the most rewarding stories, memories, and experiences I've had while backpacking around the world.
So it's not just doing shock for
scares, we really had to learn how to do tension and foreshadowing, kind of slower more drawn
out horror
moments.
