note, I am sitting at my desk looking
out my window and just saw probably the
sweetest thing ever.
Because other reviewers
noted that they came
out a bit blah, I also added about 1/4 cup of chunky peanut butter to the batter and spread raspberry preserves (Kirkland brand so they are nice and tangy, not super
sweet)
on half then baked according to directions.
The buns came
out to be satisfying
on so many levels — soft, moist dough with subtle
notes of matcha, followed by a chewy, fragrant filling, and complete with the
sweet and sour, slightly salty glaze — it's a heavenly combination.
Those pies, puddings, and berries are already
sweet, so loading your whipped cream with tons of sugar will result in a clunky, one -
note end to the meal that'll hurt your teeth, knock
out your palate, and leave you strung -
out on sugar.
Note: Because I've cut down
on my sugar intake I'm a little more sensitive than most to
sweet things, so after I added the shredded chicken back into the sauce, I stirred in 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar to balance
out the sweetness.
Aside from getting to try Spotted Cow for the first time (and loving it), the trip came to an end
on such a
sweet note when a stranger paid for our entire Starbucks drive - thru order
on the way
out of town.
