It's always baffled me that fans were so up in arms
over Wind Waker's art style despite the fact that A Link to the Past, widely considered the greatest of the classic Zeldas, also had a cartoony look and a young version of Link.
I would take
this over wind waker anyday.
The big selling point of that game
over Wind Waker was its realistic visuals and its appeal to core gamers... so it'd be far better on a system that could run it in 1080p without any hiccups.

They released an HD remake (

over a million copies (and that's just physical copies keep in mind that when the game released there were a lot of people like me that got it digitally because it was available digitally a few weeks before it was available physically

Wind Waker HD on my tv looked absolutely out of this world compared to the gamecube version, it was good for fans and the generation who never played it, my tv boasts very high contrast though lol good ol plasma technology, I think some HD re releases enhance the game, some don't in my experience, WWHD definitely enhanced the experience, really hope Capcom one day port Okami HD

Wind Waker holds up as one of the best looking games ever made.
When Nintendo unveiled The
Wind Waker HD, they declared it was to tide us
over until the next new Zelda game arrives.
However, I'm not here to argue
over which Zelda is the best one (It's
Wind Waker by the way) but how this splintering of the Zelda fan base represents a large debate in game design and storytelling, and how the core «feeling» of Zelda has changed
over the years.
Plus, there are rafting sequences and Koroks hidden all
over the map to make the
Wind Waker connection even stronger.

But, of course, this is not my first time waxing nostalgic
over the beauty of The
Wind Waker.
It was
over ten years ago that The Legend of Zelda: The
Wind Waker made its debut on the Nintendo GameCube.
I couldn't get
over how much this game takes from The
Wind Waker.
Despite eventually being revealed
over the course of the game that she is in fact the true princess of Hyrule, if ever we do see a direct sequel to The
Wind Waker we're pretty sure she won't stay on land for too long.
Personally, I'll take the whimsical, Caribbean tone of
Wind Waker over the colder and darker tones of Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess.

I don't know that
Wind Waker changed me in any identifiable way, but that slow float between islands is something I've come back to in my head
over and
over again in the years since, as a metaphor for where my life was at the time.
The
Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are both perfect titles to port to the Switch, and should be released
over time to quell the appetite of those hungry for a new Zelda title
over the next few years.

When it first launched, The Legend of Zelda:

Why it was chosen:
Over the years Twilight Princess hasn't really been held to as high a regard as the likes of Ocarina,
Wind Waker or even Majora's Mask for some reason.
With a dash of
Wind Waker, a sprinkling of Shadow of the Colossus and just the right amount of Studio Ghibli thrown in for good measure, Tequila Works» serving certainly has the necessary ingredients to become something truly special, echoing some of the indie greats that have resonated with the PlayStation audience
over the last few years.
