To serve, heat the tortillas in a dry skillet (for a crispier taco, grease the skillet or for burnt edges, toast
over an open flame) and fill
with refried beans, sliced avocado, tomatoes,
lettuce, cheddar, sour cream and salsa.
Serve
over brown rice or
with iceberg
lettuce cups to keep it low carb.
I'd recommend serving it
over romaine or iceberg
lettuce with some sliced cherry tomatoes and chopped red onion for an updated version of a steakhouse classic.
Thin the rest of the mayo out
with some water and then use a spoon to splash a bit more of it
over the
lettuce cups.
Serve the quinoa salad
over lettuce and top
with avocado, tomatoes, lime wedges, and chipotle cream sauce.
Place a layer of tomato, green bell pepper, green onions and

We had some friends
over and I made us all Fajita Bowls complete
with Homemade Roasted Blender Salsa, Fajita Vegetables, Vegan Sour Cream, Mexican Pressure Cooker Black Beans, white rice and
lettuce.
Start
with bottom piece of bread, then a layer of
lettuce if desired, then the meatball, then drizzle more marinara
over top.
This recipe also makes a fabulous crowd pleasing appetizer by using it to drizzle
over top of roasted chicken topped
with red onion slices wrapped in
lettuce.
I decided to be traditional and scoop it up
with some whole wheat Naan bread, but it would also be good
over rice or in
lettuce cups for a low carb option (see below).
Alas, the
lettuce season is
over, a cruel trick of the garden gods not to make both tomatoes and
lettuce in season at the same time, at least in Chicago,... I'll have to come up
with options.
Make once serve multiple ways: a few ideas include 1) slice chicken and serve
over a Cobb / Caesar salad 2) chop chicken into bite size pieces add a touch of light mayo and chopped celery to make a chicken salad (stuff in an avocado, or wrap, or sandwich) 3) shred chicken (
with two forks) and serve in tacos
with lettuce, tomatoes etc..
Stir and pour
over mixed fresh
lettuce and greens salad
with vegetables of your choosing i.e.: onions, olives, tomatoes, green peppers.
Next time I'd get two heads of butter
lettuce; we burned through the first head quickly
with lots of lamb and veggies left
over.
When ready to serve, toss chicken, veggies, and romaine
lettuce together; squeeze lime
over salad; (optional) top
with corn tortilla chips and shredded jack cheese; enjoy cold.
Allow guests to spread very small amounts of kochujang
over lettuce leaves, arrange lamb and vegetables in
lettuce leaves, then wrap filling
with lettuce leaves and dip into sauce.
Spoon the turkey mixture
over lettuce leaves, squeeze lime juice
over, and serve
with various toppings.
Cut the chicken breast in half, cover
with cling film and using a rolling pin gently bash the chicken so that it is roughly the same thickness all
over, heat a non stick frying pan, add the coconut oil and when melted place your chicken in the pan, on a moderate high heat slightly sear the chicken then finish cooking on a medium heat, once the chicken is almost cooked add the orange, lemon and lime juice and the honey and bring to a rapid bubbling simmer until the sauce thickens to a glaze, this will only take a minute or so, place the chicken in the
lettuce wraps spooning
over the glaze, return the pan to the heat and add the coconut milk using a spatula scrap the coconut milk around the pan so that it picks up the left
over cooking juices, take of the heat immediately, top your sticky sweet glazed chicken
with the salsa and finish off
with a drizzle of the coconut dressing.
These eggplant burgers were not only delicious served as above (on a homemade gluten - free english muffin, sliced tomato, and
lettuce), but also tasted great the next served
over a bed of mixed greens and drizzled
with a creamy cashew dressing.
Meal 2: HUGE fresh salad
with romaine
lettuce, power greens, left
over veggies from previous nights dinner (grilled onions, bell peppers, zucchini, yellow squash), roasted beets, cucumber, chicken, chia seeds, hemp hearts, avocado, and my homemade «Strawberry & Greens» dressing.
Line serving bowls generously
with lettuce, and spoon the beef fajitas and vegetables
over the top.
She amps up a zesty buttermilk dressing
with charred ramps (scallions would also be delicious) then drizzles the dressing
over crisp Little Gem
lettuce, celery, and baby turnips.
My personal favorite way to enjoy this chicken salad is in a wrap, but you could totally eat it
over some
lettuce,
with some crackers, or by the forkful.
Whisk all ingredients together and pour
over a fresh garden salad
with spring greens, Boston
lettuce and arugula, goat cheese, roasted walnuts and sliced apples.
Spread some avocado sauce in the centre of each
lettuce leaf, spoon
over a generous amount of walnut meat and top
with the pineapple salsa.
Layer shredded
lettuce and tomato slices
over and around dog, then generously top
with bacon pieces.
We love serving this Vegan Deviled Ham Spread on sandwiches, spreading a nice, thick layer
over the bottom slice of bread, topping that
with some
lettuce and other goodies, like sliced green onions and tomatoes.
And I love (love, love) the complete sandwich,
with its tangy lime - basil mayo, smoky grilled onions, rich cheddar cheese, and crisp
lettuce all coming together to make a burger I actually prefer
over beef.
6 — To serve, place in a
lettuce leaf (or 2) tope
with some freshly sliced avocado, a dollop of greek yoghurt (if not strict paleo) and sprinkle
over some fresh coriander and a few extra slices of chilli.
Grilled Buffalo Shrimp served
over grilled Romaine
Lettuce and topped
with blue cheese crumbles.
Spoon beef mixture evenly
over lettuce and continue making layers
with tomatoes, cheese, beans, avocado, and olives.
Spoon chili and queso sauce
over cheese; sprinkle
with lettuce, onion and peppers.
This is my creamy cashew dressing spiced
with some of my favourite herbs for late summer which is awesome
with any leafy green salads or drizzled
over grilled
lettuce which I'll be showing you next week so stay tuned for that!
Drizzle it
over the charred side of the
lettuce and top
with extra chopped herbs.
