If you do not have access to a baking scale, cup measurements are provided, but be aware it is very easy to
over measure flour, especially whole grain flour.
Not exact matches
In
measuring cup, whisk buttermilk with egg and vanilla; pour
over flour mixture.
No need to
measure, just add milk until it's all combined and pourable
over your fat stack of chickpea
flour protein pancakes!
I halved the recipe, added a splash of vanilla, and
measured out the
flour beginning with your rice
flour blend (I had a 1/2 C or so left
over): 1/2 C white rice
flour 1/2 C brown rice
flour 1/2 C tapioca starch 1/2 C potato starch (not
flour)
You might consider using a little
over half the yeast next time to see if that helps, and we sure you're either
measuring your
flour by weight with a scale or fluffing and sprinkling it into the
measuring cup one spoonful at a time to ensure light cups of
flour.
But if you prefer to use a
measuring cup, try this method: fluff the
flour in the container, sprinkle it
over the cup til it overflows, then level off.
If it does not seem to be thickening up to your liking repeat this
over again, ladling a cup of the hot stock into the
measuring cup and adding a tablespoon of cassava
flour, whisking, and adding back to the pan.
It is not only possible, but likely, to
over - or under -
measure flour by a full ounce (or 28 grams) when
measuring by volume.
I know it doesn't seem like a huge change to make if you're used to it, but it can be hard to switch
over to
measuring in a whole new way and it can be tough to make sure the measurements are exact in grams / ounces (at least in my experience — for instance I keep having to spoon out extra
flour out of the bowl if I added too much... it definitely takes a learning curve to be precise).
In a sifter
over a dry ingredients bowl,
measure with (NO presifting) AP
flour.
lightly butter 2 baking tins (the ones I use
measure 20 cm diameter) and sprinkle some coconut
flour over bottom and sides.
Also added a touch of unsweetened almond milk and 1 tablespoon of
flour since I
over did the milk (being a typical man I avoid
measuring instruments often ending badly)
