This post is from a little
over a month ago, if you were wondering why the
bump looks a little
smaller here and not
as prominent.
The
smaller bumps seemed to be a bit more noticeable but
over bigger undulations there is still that slightly loose - limbed waterbed sensation
as it soaks everything up.
It's even more comfortable on
smaller wheels,
as larger alloys do cause some harsher jolts from the rear axle
over more severe
bumps, but that's not too much of a surprise given that the Disco has been designed to carry seven people and luggage.
The ride seemed too vague and cushy at times, such
as when you ride
over a quick succession of
small bumps and head quickly into a turn.
Couple that with new bumpers, aprons and sideskirts that are tall enough to go
over a speed
bump and you'll see hat even though it's not a
small hatchback it's still not
as absurd
as a heavily modified car nor
as big
as a Range Rover.
If you pump up a tyre and then drive on it (steering, braking, going
over bumps etc), the side wall flexes slightly only slightly increasing the pressure
as the tyre goes in and out of shape and this
small movement is sufficient to maintain the temperature
as long
as the car is being driven (you see this in motorsport).
