Arrange the apple quarters with cut side up over the caramel, add cinnamon if used, place over medium heat and cook for about 8 - 10 minutes to partially cook the apples.

we actually just made an AIP apple crisp last night and I bet this caramel would have just taken it way over the top!

Candied pumpkin seeds and caramel sauce over locally grown baked apples.

I have used it as a sauce over my non-dairy speculoos cheesecake, and most recently to create a salted caramel glaze for my apple pie bundt cake.

Sweet, warm apples combined with rich, delicious caramel sauce, melted over cold vanilla ice cream.

You have the tart, cool crunch of the apple (I prefer Granny Smith for their tart flavor and firm texture, but you can use your favorite apple variety), the rich flavor and chewy texture of the caramel, and just enough chocolate to take this dessert over the top.

After drizzling the caramel sauce over the apples, I top it all off with a simple Crumb mixture and voila dessert is ready.
