IF, Wenger believes we NEED to buy, because we have nobody ready to take
over, then I believe he will, hopefully, the likes of
Chambers,
with a whole career ahead of him, and not one
with a few years left.
Chambers much better suited to a right sided 3 man defence xhaka is too slow
over ground and cant stop counter attacks — leicester love a quick break - but best available at moment until others are fit use giroud to flick on and play
with a partner like he does for france.
Personally I'd take
Chambers over Debuchy for this one, Debuchy is too attacking - minded for this type of game, can't afford to get caught out
with Hazard playing that side.
Also, the new formation of a back three does seem suited to
Chambers, just like it is
with the other young England international Rob Holding, who does seem to have the edge
over Chambers in Wenger's plans but that could change and any injury could mean that
Chambers is needed.
Depends a bit on if and who we bring in
over the summer but I definitely wouldn't feel too confident
with Coquelin, Bielek and
Chambers as our DM depth chart.
As usual the Arsenal squad is massively depleted due to injury problems and the suspension of Calum
Chambers could hardly have come at a worse time for Arsene Wenger and the club, especially
with today's visitors to the Emirates stadium coming fresh off the back of a famous victory
over Chelsea.
AFC bought
Chambers and he was pushed out on loan when Wenger got other CBs, he performed so well on loan that he won the fans

In his time at the club, he's failed to really make a claim at becoming a Gunners regular and there have been suggestions that

For
Chambers to make a permanent spot for himself in the Arsenal rearguard, he would have to dethrone Mertesacker or Koscielny (when the Frenchman returns from injury) from the Arsenal backline,

Joining a club of arsenal s stature has its ups and downs. There is a requirement of how our players should perform when on the pitch. The following is a list of players who were wrong to choose arsenal.Aaron ramsey - Even though he is the most favoured of all players at the club now.I cant help but think how it would have gone for Him if he decided to search for other greener pastures. He was a clear talented footballer during his time at cardiff but he hasnt been raised
with the discipline at arsenal. You can always see ramseys all round strengths but sadly Its not helping him or the club
with his foward moving pleasurr. He is so
Over used and its sometimes difficult for him to get used to the rythm of the game. With time you realise he gets low ib confidence and his engine gets wasted. He needed somebody who would have managed him properly and with care and that person is certainpy not wenger. You would have been better off at Manu mate.Calum chambers - Came us a very talented player from southampton with raw talent. He was very good at first but wenger found a way to reduce his level of confidence. His inexperience was left exposed and wenger did nt do anything to resolve that problem and instead He looked for other talented players.Alex oxlade chamberlain - Another very talented player who needed only his skilled sharpened and his character modelled. That and he was ready to become a world beater. But wenger decided to let him run and run like a headless chicken causing him to be often injured and damaging his confidence.Who knows what would have happened to him gad he decided to look for more greener pasture. He is surely a much better player than this.Theo walcott - Another player who was tipped to have a very bright future. He had it in him.But all he needed was an appropriate manager who would nurture him with discipline and help him with his talent. But on Coming to arsenal he was given Much more responsiblities putting more weight on his shoulders on top of that another player who was recklessly managed with his talent and never coming off age because his character wasnt properly shaped.Mesut ozil - Al right i agree he perfoms well just recently. But imagine all the legendary players he was often compared to during his time at real madrid. On coming to arsenal he found no rotation often overused, suffered many injuries and his confidence dwindled. It is pretty clear arsene does not take any responsibility for players. And when at arsenal you have to be your own manager. You need not rely on your manager otherwise you might continue being the same player for the next many years. That is why each and every player are what they are because of their own efforts and wenger had nothing to do with it.Van persie was the same player for over 7 years untill he himself decided to change.Wenger only organises and prepares tge team while the rest is in your court. It is not what so many people make it out to be.Thats why we need to pressure wenger more than our own players. They are their own self managers and wenger needs to take that responsibi

With Uncertainties
Over The Futures Of Gibbs,
Chambers, Debuchy, Lucas, Akpom, Coquelin, Wilshere And Even Walcott.
FQ should be rested until the weekend and I would put
chambers there
with the captain and hold position not move all
over the part.
We have two good left backs
with Gibbs just shading it
over the Spaniard and we have Bellerin doing well on the right,
with Chambers as strong competition and the unlucky Debuchy due back in April.
With the likes of Mustafi, Koscielny, Holding and Gabriel all arguably ahead of the German, whilst even
Chambers may be preferred
over him in order for the youngster to develop, I must admit I can see the point being made here.
However, in terms of quality Bellerin is the real deal and we have to play him
over chambers against city
with the pace of Navas, augero etc..
He chest the ball and it went
over him.We need serious players and not imposters like him.Holding seems more composed
with the ball than
Chambers by far
And the Frenchman has followed that stunning deal up as well,
with decent money spent on
Chambers, Debuchy and Welbeck last summer as well as
over # 30 million on Alexis Sanchez, although that now looks an absolute steal.
Gabriel for all his mistakes is better than Mertesacker, Holding and
Chambers. His only problems were communication and decision making. His sale was pointless. He's now left us
with three inconsistent defenders in Mertesacker,
Chambers and Holding. Why am I not shocked that Wenger plays Monreal
over some of these ones. The Ox loss to me is a big loss. There are players which every team's defender will find difficult to handle and Ox is one of them.He provides us
with so much cutting edge. However, I hope we buy a winger and not a wing back when he's sold. Our formation is a joke and I'm hoping we revert back to our old system. Those also calling for Reiss Nelson to replace him haven't learn their lessons. It'll probably be too late when it comes back to haunt us.
Holding's done well but his recent performances have shown that a youngster is indeed a youngster.Even when he was playing well there were many times where he overdid things. However, I'm saying all these things because the guy is being heavily replied upon and that's putting pressure on him hence the inconsistencies.I'm still sratching my head
over the Gabriel sale.I honestly think he's better than Mertesacker, Holding and
Chambers for now.The three back suited him perfectly.I agree
with you that Ox can't score or defend but he can definitely set up chances
with his crossing. In fact I think though he gets many wrong he's actually our best crosser.People should should go and rewatch his crosses and compare it to our other players.
Time for some brutal honesty... this team, as it stands, is in no better position to compete next season than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a team that still has far more questions than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state of affairs on a position - by - position basis... in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but in reality we have only 1 option
with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid of for years because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest in, as they seem to have a pretty good history when it comes to that position... as far as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy of our time and / or investment, as such we should get rid of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan out
Chambers to see if last seasons foray
with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort of pie in the sky meanderings are indicative of what's wrong
with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base... in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions
over the past 5 seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that player into the fold without any of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous for (this kind of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special players and certainly can't help make the player in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)... in order for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to striker, like we did in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign...
with this in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his lack of defensive prowess and provide him
with the proper players in the final third... he was never a good defensive player in Real or
with the German National squad and they certainly didn't suffer as a result of his presence on the pitch... as for the rest of the midfield the blame falls squarely in the hands of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start when none of the aforementioned had more than a year left under contract is criminal for a club of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul... for me it's time to get rid of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just as much time on the training table as on the field of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)... in their places we need to bring in some proven performers
with no history of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true quality at the striker position falls once again squarely at the feet of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone of Henry's quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand players of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible when the business model was that of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain
over the line when he was being offered up for half the price he eventually went to Juve for, or that we've only paid any interest to strikers who were clearly not going to press their current teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part of the facade that finally came crashing down when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree
with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center than a manager who has clearly bought into the Kroenke model in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore as the game has changed quite dramatically in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking in... so don't blame those players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness for several years when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet of those who were well aware all along of the potential pitfalls of just such a plan but continued to follow it even when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
Here is my list of players from the 29 that can be sold released or loan, which will bring the
over 21 year old first team squad down to just 21 players Szczesney Martinez Macey Debuchy Flamini Arteta Rosicky Sanogo This then gives us space for 4 new signings, personally I think that would be enough if we go
with this squad for next season Cech ospina Huddart (under 21) Jenkinson Bellerin (u21) New signining, Mertesacker Koscielny Gabriel Monreal Gibbs New signing Coquelin
chambers (u21) Elneny wilshire ramsey New Signing, walcott, chamberlain Ozil, iwobi (u21) toral (u21) Alexis, Campbell, Wellington New signing, Welbeck, giroud
Kos and Howedes / Schar / Ranocchia (doubtful in Jan)
with Per and
Chambers backup is good cover at CB, then maybe Mings in the summer and have
Chambers / Mings grooming to take
over.
English media are overhyping him like they do
with every english player,
Chambers is only 19 he shouldn't be a starter at a club like Arsenal
over the course of a 50 game season the pressure will tell no matter how mature he seems to be!
With Arsene Wenger already having to cope with a defensive injury crisis that has left him without Koscielny, Chambers and Mustafi, the decision to leave the Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker and our Spanish international Nacho Monreal back in London while Arsenal take on Red Star Belgrade away shows clearly that the boss is making the Premier League game at Everton on Sunday a big priority over this evening's Europa League
