I admit that my favorite way to eat this caramel flavored spread is from a spoon, but it is also great when poured
over ice cream, used as a dip for fruit, spread
on bread or even pancakes, poured
over popcorn, used as a flavoring in homemade ice cream or yogurt, as a
frosting, to sandwich two cookies together (especially in Alfajores), as a layer in Millionaire's Shortbread Bars, or in a Banoffee Pie (takes a pastry shell and fills it with Dulce de Leche, sliced bananas, and whipped cream).
I'm glad the
frosting was only
on the sides because it would have been too sweet and rich all
over.
Depending
on how much
frosting you like
on your cupcake, you may have a little left
over, which isn't too bad of a problem to have, is it?
Scoop the
frosting on top of each of the flipped
over cookies using the small cookie scoop again.
I use this recipe and cut it in half, and it was the perfect amount to pipe these cute little rosettes
on top, with plenty left
over to spread
on your slice, because more is more when it comes to
frosting.
I am going to need to double the cupcake recipe and I only plan
on using enough
frosting on each to do a rose swirl, so I don't necessarily want to double the
frosting recipe if I don't have to, since often times I end up with lots of
frosting left
over.
Put half of your
frosting on top of one of your cakes and gently spread it out
over the sponge but keep it a few centimetres from the edges and then sandwich it together with the other half.
Then place the remaining
frosting on the top of the cakes and gently work in
over the top and down the side of the sponges until everything is fully covered.
It's a no muss, no fuss way to have cake and
frosting, and you don't have the anxiety of it breaking while getting out of the pan, or the
frosting getting smushed
on your way
over.

Using your spoon, spoon the mixture
on top and
over the mounds of
frosting in each candy cup to enclose the cream cheese icing inside of the candy cup.
Assembling the cake: place one cake layer, top side down,
on a cake plate and spread about a fifth of the
frosting over the cake to cover evenly.
Using a large ladle or spoon, scoop spiced apple compote
on center of cake
over frosting.
Pour batter evenly
over frosting mixture and bake in middle of oven 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean (
frosting on bottom will still be liquid).
Simply roll / spread out the entire mix
on baking paper and cut into squares (try spreading some of our healthy chocolate spread
over the brownies for a divine
frosting).
Just try to tear yourself away from «Vanilla Bean Meltaways» (thick butter cookies showered in sugar with a tiny plastic figurine wielding a vacuum cleaner to seemingly clean up the excess in the photo), «Matcha & Pistachio No - Bake Cheesecake» that's the haunting green hue of moss growing
on a cliff, and «Brownie Wears Lace» in which brownies are gilded with blond chocolate ganache
frosting, before bittersweet chocolate is piped all
over the top in a delicate lace pattern.
Put 1 cup (8.5 ounces) of
frosting on the cake and spread it with a large offset spatula evenly
over the cake, going just past the edge.
Place a cake layer
on a long, thin serving platter and spread a layer of
frosting over the top.
Put 1 cup of
frosting on top and again spread it evenly
over the cake, going just past the edge.
Put way more of the coconut
on top of the
frosting than is shown in the picture; I poured it
over the
frosted then shook off the excess.
To assemble, Heikki piped cashew
frosting over the cupcakes, and I dropped a few caramelized cashews (instructions here)
on top of each one.
I just spread the
frosting on the cake with a butter knife, then distributed the caramelized nuts
over the
frosting, and finally drizzled the last topping with a spoon
on top of it all.

Hi, I tried making this
frosting and while mixing in the mixer (i might have mixed for too long
on) it separated and looked mushy and liquidy.I put it i the fridge
over night and in the morning it looked the same except rock hard.
It produces two sides, so you can stand them up, stick them together with the honey
frosting (recipe
on the package), and drizzle the
frosting over the top to hide the seam.
Made this with canned peaches, fabulous, we like
frosted cakes so used syrup from can and reduced
