in the center, but when the fridge is on the other side of the island (and

sink, you waste a lot of time and steps moving food to where it will be prepped.)

When I remodeled the
kitchen in my last house, I removed a cabinet next to the window

Don't have the small fortune to blow out the wall and install one and a solar tube

Here are the pictures of the
kitchen / den area after the hardwood floors were put
in, the cabinets and walls were painted white, the sliding glass doors were replaced with French doors, the odd door from the den into the entry way was removed, the wagon wheel hanging
over the area for the
kitchen table was removed, granite tile countertops were installed, a beadboard backsplash was installed, a new
sink was put
in, and the appliances from the 1960s were replaced.
I have the same issue
in our
kitchen, the window
over the
sink faces the neighbors.
In my bungalow
kitchen remodel, I've been distressed by the dissonant details
over the
sink.
If there is no island to hang pendants
over, we love to hang one above the
kitchen sink, both to add another level of lighting and to make sure you aren't doing your dishes
in the dark!
For a
kitchen though it is so nice to have natural light streaming
in, it was better
in this
kitchen to recover that space for storage and counters and upgrade to a smaller window centered
over the
sink.
