I can tell you that this is an awesome «real
food» bread recipe (no white flour, no
refined sugar) and I no longer have to worry about «needing»
overly processed bagels before a long run again.
Because oil is so concentrated, it can become addictive (like any
overly refined / processed
foods, i.e., sugar, salt) and is hard to moderate, and concentrated
foods like these make us want to eat more of them and
foods that contain them, which are usually not the healthiest (bread, cookies, etc).
Similarly, it seems silly to talk about rising obesity rates and increasing portion sizes without taking into account crop subsidies that not make it possible to buy 64 ounces (500 calories) of a soft drink for a mere two dollars, but also explain why school lunches across the country are trays full of
overly refined ad highly - processed
foods.
So, for example, instead of jumping from an unhealthy diet loaded with highly
refined or
overly processed
foods to a ketogenic diet that's highly restrictive, begin by slowly adding in healthy
foods or beverages and decreasing unhealthy
foods or beverages.
My philosophy now is no
refined sugar, not a lot of salt or
overly processed
foods.
With a clean eating diet, you are trying to eat mostly whole
foods and lean protein, avoiding
overly processed
foods and
refined carbs.
Those
foods most likely to increase mucus production and further stress a child's already weak digestive system are: dairy, soy (especially
overly processed soy products), commercial formulas, wheat and most flour products, baby cereals and commercial cereals, thick, creamy and heavy
foods, processed grains, juice, soda,
refined sugars, processed
foods, fried
foods / oils, multiple
food choices at a time and overfeeding
lol But once you add it to something else like your protein shake or anything else, it takes just fine, and is much healthier than the
overly refined garbage they sweeten our
foods with nowadays.
(This is where many people go wrong, turning to
overly processed or
refined foods to feel satiated, rather than seeking out healthier alternatives.)
