I can taste the
overwhelming wisdom about Walcott on the
way in April when he returns just in time to get the
usual few games before a major tournament and undeservedly gets picked for England — blocking the inclusion of a deserving player.
In May, the British people affirmed by an
overwhelming majority and with their
usual good sense that first past the post is the best
way of running our democracy, and put to rest schemes of playing with the rules for a generation.
