I am planning to try and make my own
chalky paint for quite a while now, and have seen various «recipes» to do this, most of which are using POP.

My rule of thumb is that if
your chalky painted furniture will get daily wear and tear, it's best to protect it with a top coat!

chalky paint options in a wide range of colors.

Tanya, I've never made my own
chalky paint, but I'm definitely going to pin your recipe.
All I did was use left over «
chalky paint» and concrete left over from our countertops.
And I finished off the piece with clear soft - wax on both
the chalky paint and over the top of the table top.
I didn't know that Menards sells
chalky paint.
My original plan involved an off white
chalky paint on the bottom, and a weathered looking stain on the top.
I mixed up a quick batch of my diy
chalky paint primer that I use on 90 % of my projects and used my Homeright Finish Max to spray the chair back with my favorite white, Polished Pearl.
If you don't the glaze will just get absorbed right into
the chalky paint making it look smudgy dirty and impossible to work with When working with glaze apply quickly to all one side, ie, one side of a dresser.

Note: You can not use black
chalky paint for a chalkboard, looks good but your chalk design ends up embedded into the paint, you need to use real chalkboard paint my friends.

Whether it is possible to use a small project spray gun with
any chalky paint.
Then I painted the soles, black with home made
chalky paint and last, I painted the rusty blades with some metallic silver paint I had (Martha Stewart).

A palette of 12
chalky paints to co-ordinate perfectly with the retro wallpaper collection.
I had a large milk glass bowl that I have in my collection at home at thought
the chalky paint pumpkins would look great displayed inside.
The bowl had a very smooth painted ceramic surface and the Rustoleum
Chalky paint adhered to the bowl with no problems at all.
Then I placed the vintage inspired
chalky paint pumpkins on top.
I have used home made
chalky paint several times with really good results on a desk in our guest room, a bench and some frames.
Fyi: If you would like Beige Shadow to be
a chalky paint: Mix 4 TBSP of Calcium Carbonate (You can order online through Vitacost, Walmart, or Amazon): with 2 TBSP of water until smooth Add mixture to 1 cup of (flat or satin) latex paint and you will have a very nice, chalky paint.
