im with you
on that... even if we do nt wanted, wenger likes to play a cam
in one of the
wing to get more possesion... im
on th more dinamic play with to fast wingers who have goals and can get the line to take the pass to our target man (giroud or other)... because of that also is that wenger need a player
on the cf who can play holdup playing... but, if wenger continiue to play that way and demands a player with good technique and short pass, i thing he also need to go for a player with goals and more
pace than ramsey... he play ramsey there because he shows that he knows where is the f * net and have the technique and pass... but he needs more
pace and even better dribbling skills...
in that case i would go for isco or gotze

pace on the
wings (Campbell, Walcott, Ox) Arsenal should do fine.
Start of last season with ramsey and occationally walcott woth ozil
in tht 10 role worked great once both ramsey and walcott got injured ozil season was pretty much over, we were calling for wenger to provide ozil with

pace uptop but wenger does a complete u-turn and puts ozil
on wings
If wenger tries his usual Amc
on the left
wing against chelsea, then he is mad.Although prandelli made a mistake playing the 3 -5-2 formation
in the first half against such
pace in the arsenal side which clearly showed but lets not take anything away from the boys tonight.

on the

pace and his ball control is at times a bit off.

Chelsea play a large chunk of their football
on the counter-attack, taking advantage of the
pace in their attacking line and
wings to hurt teams, but our play is not so direct, as we prefer to build up slowly and with Ozil
in our side, there is less room to play
in the way the champions do.
I hope Wenger plays Ozil
in his fav role today and Sanchez and Cazorla stay
on the
wing and make runs behind the defenders, the
pace we have
in Welbeck with the hustle and creativity
on the flank will bring the best out of our Ozil and his understanding with Ramsey will make us less predictable
in attack!
It should've been Walcott or Welbeck instead of Ramsey
on the
wing to provide the threat of
pace, with Giroud
in the middle to offer an aerial threat.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense
in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes
in the same clinical fashion we did years ago...
on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender
on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess
in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself
in trouble when he gets overly aggressive
on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen
pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required
in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach
pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side
wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling
in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities
on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points
in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis
in a more advanced role
on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself
in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him
in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive
in the final third...
on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players
in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence
in Real or the space and protection he receives
in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily
on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived
in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components...
in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them
in large part as headless chickens who are
on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion
in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay
on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin
in that
wing - back position should we continue to use that formation...
in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen
on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often
in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and
in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place
in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
I think the major reason Wenger did not sign a strong DM is because of Diaby, Wenger may think it s his last chance to prove what he is capable of and he is when fit so I expect to see a breaktrough or fail from Diaby. You have to admire the loyalty of Wenger
on those kind of point, the team is still short of defender but I do think that a Diaby fit can be a good DM as he is tall, strong and technical. There is 3 new striker, Campbell and Sanchez who can play the
wings and a tall, strong Wellbeck who can bully the defenders
in the box, all three have
pace so it s an upgrade
on Giroud and Sanogo.
Given Reading's penchant for a cross from the
wings, Arsene Wenger could be tempted to start with the more muscular and defensively adept Calum Chambers but this could be just the game for Bellerin's
pace and tricky down the right to catch the Royals
on the break when they foray just a little too high
in the Arsenal half.
Combined
in a 4 -4-2 with Sanchez with the added
pace of the Ox and Walcott

The main problem for me is our tactics; central midfielders occupying
wing positions with wingers
on the bench, no runners ever
in behind the opposition defence, passing football with no end product, nobody driving forward at
pace with the ball, instead opting for a sideways or backwards pass and an overall lack of counter attacking, penetrating play.
I would play chambers
in dm position alongside ramsey with ozil having free role behind sanchez and ox
on right that gives us plenty of
pace and will allow ozil to get
on the ball more and produce his magic passes he will be much more influential then stuck out
on the
wing espec as he is poor at tracking back so lets play to his strengths that will get the best out of him and
in turn create more chances for forwards!
Best used out
on the right
wing to allow him to cut
in on his left, that may not work at Anfield given the effectiveness and importance of
pace out wide for Klopp with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane impressing.
The other thing is that although Gotze could play
on the
wing for Arsenal like he has done occasionally for his national side, he isn't a natural winger
in the sense that he is more direct with build up play, passing and the ball at his feet, rather than the
pace, ability to beat a player and to put crosses
in as you'd expect from a «real» winger.
I have no doubt Theo would have brought some much needed
pace and energy had he started
in place of Giroud, or better yet leave Ramsey out move Cazorla back to his preferred role
in the center further back next to Coq (which would reduce the need for Coq to attempt long range passes) and play Theo
on his right
wing spot and Ox
on the left
wing.
No
pace on wings, no steel
in midfield, no points.
Hopefully against liverpool he hits the ground running, I'd also really like us to start Ox or Theo
on the right so we have
pace on the
wings to utilize the space we will get
in an open match
well ppl were saying arsenal badly needed a striker with
pace and better finishing, now those fans have been proved right which cud have been the difference last season.unfortunately wenger thought otherwise.dont understand why is ozil played
on the
wing when hes PROVEN to be efficient
in middle (and wenger cites example of brazilian team winning world cup with no10's, oh dear!.
wenger is a very stuborn manager and his actions as always caused us games, i will continue to say this when arsenal plays with
pace they do well i remember when playing ramsey
on the
wing he was awful same as diaby also when we had denilson and fabregas
in midfield van persie would come into the middle to assist play but since we have good midfieders now i expect wenger to use proper wingers such as ox, campbell, sanchez, serge, theo e.t.c. putting midfieders
on the
wing loses pact and we» r easily caged.
ridiculous... whatever he is
in midfield he was a complete waste of a player
on the
wing... lacked
pace and touch and did nt go past players... if wenger does nt invest
in another world class attacker this summer we will always be nearly theres... giroud has improved undoubtedly but against top class defenders he is just another journeyman from ligue un... bellerin certainly our top choice fullback now hazard did nt get a look
in... coquelin carzola ozil sanchez working together... so if we invest properly
in summer we can overhaul this lot who are no great team for sure..

in games like at home vs Liverpool but like you said

Although it seems a bit far - fetched, there is obvious reason
in such an argument, as Salah has boasted an eye for goal, technical quality along with
pace and movement that would arguably suit Barcelona's style perfectly if he was deployed
on the
wing.
He usually plays from the right
wing, and is best known for his
pace, trickery and directness, allowing him to cut
in from wide and shoot
on his left foot.
I think the main problem with AMs
on the
wing is that they are reluctant to get
in the penalty box, that's what makes Ramsey so effective, he is one of the only ones
in midfield these days who has no
pace but knows when to run
in the box as support (resulting
in goals, freeing up the striker, or just getting an awkward defensive position to take advantage of.
Some specifically suggested a change for the Swansea game
in particular because of
pace on the
wings and strikers who are dangerous
in the air.
On the
wings Andre Carrillo, Carlos Mane and Gelson Martins have the
pace whilst
in the middle William Carvalho and Islam Slimani are the powerhouses you need.
Maybe Laca holds the ball up better, but then again, Auba's better
in the air, and his extra
pace means he can stretch the defense
in a way Laca can't and
in a way that gets handicapped (though not entirely erased)
on the
wing.
Notably not playing with enough width or
pace on the
wing, playing compact
in the midfield (which makes a team that doesn't possess well easy to stop), and our quick counters weren't played nearly as frequently.
As to Walcott playing CF we don't need Ox to first come back.Gnabry is so good at the
wing due to his
pace and power and directness. He is even a direct threat to the Ox.We need both the Germans
on the
wings with Walcott
in the middle although they can swap with Podolski.
But Lacazette is a better finisher
in my opinion and may not have the
pace to play
on the
wings anymore the way Auba does.
As I
in the beginning of this season the lack of
pace up front, will not be work
in favour Ozil and playing
on the
wing does not help.
His
pace makes him a perfect
wing - back type of player, and he'll love to get
in behind Chelsea
on the break.
The arrival of Kwadwo Asamoah and Sebastien Lichtsteiner (replacing Blaise Matuidi and Medhi Benatia)
on the hour mark saw Juve instantly benefit from a fresh injection of
pace out
on the
wings as the Old Lady pounced twice
in quick succession to snatch back control.
His
pace is needed more
on the
wing at the moment to offer some balance to the team, so he doesn't need to be occupied by playing centrally and then sometimes not be involved
in attacking moves because he's been kept deeper
on the pitch.
The fact that theres
wing backs going up and down
in this formation means that
in order to maximize the formation,
pace is key so instead of Rafinha Karamoh should have started with strong supporting overlaps from Cancelo and
on the other side it should have been Dalbert and Perisic especially because
on each side you have such high working rate players.
