a pagan cultic image, and has «nothing to do with infusing a Platonic soul» (p. 75)-- a statement which seems too strong to me.
Though they don't say it, I imagine the authors are against Christmas and Easter as well, since both of these holidays are steeped in
pagan cultic worship practices.
