The Kindles feature
Page Flip, a built - in dictionary, Wikipedia access, and the ability to share titles with other Amazon accounts using Family Library.
I've got
Page Flip (which is great) on both my Voyage and my Oasis, but I can't see the export notes feature, and from how you described it on the show, it seems to work better from the e-ink devices than from the Fires or the apps for iOS and Android.
If you read in
Page Flip, please leave for regular view at least at the end of the book.
Page Flip also works with Audible so you can browse through the book while the app or Alexa reads the book aloud.

Page Flip or not, you can tell because there's an outline around the page (on most devices and apps) and the progress bar is visible at the bottom of the screen without tapping.
I love reading in
Page Flip mode on my 8.9 Kindle HDX.
Page Flip is intended as a navigation feature, (according to them), so any pages read that way will not count.
This is possibly partially due to issues with
page flip resulting in unrecorded reads (a problem that has been verified by multiple testers but denied by Amazon) but also potentially some kind of glitch causing authors to see sudden inexplicable drops in page reads by 30 percent or more.
Amazon has also added
a Page Flip feature to the Kindle ecosystem, which lets you view multiple pages of a book at once so you can skim back and forth without losing your place.
Those are physical controls that trigger
the page flip by applying the pressure on each side of the e-reader.
Page Flip is available on eReaders, on Fire tablets, as well as the Kindle app for iOS and Android.

You will be able to flip through
the Page Flip graphic as you would the paper pages of a print book.
Page Flip exists in current Paperwhites, and it's a very handy way to move through a book.
If
Page Flip works smoothly, perhaps taking advantage of the new Paperwhite's overall speed improvement, it will be a significant advance in eBook technology.
I erroneously thought that
Page Flip was new with the Voyage.
Page Flip's slider is a bit sensitive, which can make jumping to a particular chapter in a book rather hit - and - miss.
Amazon's press release said
the Page Flip feature would be added via a software update but that doesn't necessarily seem to be the case.
Page Flip addresses a constant frustation of mine: Flipping to a different part of a book is easy when that book is made of paper, but on a Kindle it's always been problematic.
It seems to be a silent, sneaky update of sorts because suddenly all my books show
Page Flip now without having to redownload them, and it's still at 5.8.1....
I deleted the book, restarted the Kindle, then redownloaded the book to get
Page Flip to show up.
