"page refresh" means reloading or restarting a webpage on the internet to see any new changes or updates.

It is my favorite ebook reader for many reasons: external storage, not back lit,
fast page refresh, many font options, sharp e-ink display.
About the only noticeable difference in terms of software is they made it so the screen never does a full
page refresh when reading.
If the wireless is on, the number
of pages refreshed drops to one - third or about 600, equivalent to about 300 printed pages, or about 1 and a half books.
It is only when you are turning a page or navigating a menu does any serious battery drain occur

page refresh per minute, with GlowLight on the default (half) brightness.
What I like about the PaperLike PRO is that there is not much flickering due to E
INK page refreshes.
One is to take advantage of the touchscreen, which tends to have ghosting issues and makes the
entire page refresh each page you turn.
That slow downloading also
made page refresh slower on the BlackBerry when scrolling.
Regal virtually eliminates the need for a full
page refresh giving the reader smoother page transitions for more focused reading.
Now, this will also be fixed, which means less full
page refreshes because again, its now hardware based, instead of software.
Honestly though, the
Kobo page refreshes are still faster than physically turning pages of a book and it really did not bother me at all.
One difference with PDFs is that partial
page refresh doesn't work; it refreshes the entire page every time.
But the quality isn't very good because the text is rougher and less dark than with full
page refresh turned on so it's not going to be very useful for that.
Other settings include reading and
page refresh toggles, languages, parental controls, Bluetooth headphone connections and WiFi connections, nightlight toggle for gradual screen brightness changing as your eyes adjust to the darkness, and much more in relation to what is shown on the display as you read.
