Ron, you can get a very professional edit as an indie
publisher — just do your homework and search carefully, ask for testimonials or references, and ask exactly what they look for (don't settle for just spelling and grammar — there's so much more
at stake), and get a sample edit, or a trial edit of the first 10 - 30
pages or so.
