It is not unusual for women to have some post surgical
pain after a Cesarean birth.
Some women experience back
pain after a Cesarean section.

Women run 5 to 7 times the risk of death with
cesarean section compared with vaginal birth.14, 29 Complications during and

cesarean section, women are more likely to experience negative emotions, including lower self - esteem, a sense of failure, loss of control, and disappointment.
Pain Medication May Make Your Baby Sleepy: It's very important that you take your
pain medication
after you have a
cesarean section.
Sure it was a roller - coaster ride of ups and downs, of crying, of sore nipples, and thinking of giving up as I did not know what I was doing wrong, of pressure from family and friends who were not sure I could produce enough milk, of sleepless nights, and extensive
pain because of my
cesarean wounds, of managing my time to work, and breastfeeding before leaving for work, during my noon breaks, and
after the working day was over.
I have even been a doula during scheduled
cesareans, ensuring that the mother was not alone as the father went with the baby, helping them before their
cesarean to know what their choices were for
pain relief before and
after, taking pictures, helping dad get to cut the cord, etc..
My body is free of tension, fear and
pain and knows exactly how to safely birth my baby vaginally
after my previous
cesarean birth
If you gave birth via
cesarean surgery, occasionally the epidural catheter will stay in for a few more hours to help provide you with
pain relief
after the surgery.
Avoid having a
cesarean section — Women who go into a natural birth are more likely to avoid having
cesarean, this means no scar and less
pain after birth.
Research tells us that mothers that have doula care have lower risk of
cesarean, lower rates of
pain medicine and epidurals, higher breastfeeding rates, higher satisfaction of birth experiences, higher rates of vaginal birth
after cesarean.
Between each contraction I would dose off just like when you are on
pain pills (I know this because I was on lots
after both of my previous
cesareans).
