stain would an amazing touch to any
kitchen.

stain I really like this idea but have just had my
kitchen painted a blue gray, with white chair rail done.

paint and finish did you use for protecting
stains kitchen a d cooking messes?
We're currently building and I'd love to know the
paint color on the
kitchen cabinets as well as the
stain used on the island and bookshelves, and the name / color of the hardwood floors.

We are refinishing our dark -
stained kitchen cabinets and planning on using a white chalk
paint.
Dark wood
stains are popular in office furniture more so than
kitchens, but when paired with the right countertops and wall
paint, dark
stains can look amazing.
It was very much curb alert status, but after an hour or two of scrubbing (I think it used to be an outdoor
kitchen where mud pies were frequently made) and some fresh
paint on the water -
stained backsplash, it was as good as new.
Oh my goodness... I think IF she plans on keeping it and not tearing it down and starting over,
paint the outside, keep the white, do black shutters and a great color for the front door or get a new solid wood one, 2nd... on the inside, seeing that J Lo transformed her husband's NY place into more modern fare, I think that she would definitely add color (all the walls are white) in the lighter neutrals, reverse the dark
stained wood molding in the sitting area around the ceiling and windows into something lighter to coordinate with whatever wall color she chooses or white, 3rd... she would remove most of the colonial furniture pieces, especially sofas and chairs, and add something with more interest, 4th... holy cow... that red carpet on the stairs would definitely go and she would do hardwoods, 5th...
kitchen and FR complete overhaul, I can see her doing 2 different seating areas in the FR and gut the
kitchen..
So we decided to strip and
stain the top with Feast Watson in Elm and
paint the rest with Miss Mustard Seed Milk
Paint in
Kitchen Scales, the hardware would stay the same.
Now i just need to convince the fiance to let me
paint the
kitchen cabinets white instead of the dated 70's wood
stain color they are.
If you add a dark floor
stain to your
kitchen floors, select a light
paint for the island, walls, and cabinetry.
Here is a before picture of the dining room (with carpet, beige walls, and weird door between it and the
kitchen) and a picture after the crown moulding and chair rail were put up, the walls were
painted red, the weird door was removed, and the hardwood floors were put in (but before they were
stained).

paint you have painstakingly applied.
Formulated to resist moisture,
staining and general wear and tear, Intelligent Eggshell has a tough yet subtle finish and is a superb
paint for all woodwork and
kitchen & bathroom walls.
The oil base primer keeps the cabinets from yellowing later on because it seals in the old color /
stain color and lessens the risk of the
paint chipping off later.You don't «have to» prime with chalk
paint, but I would not recommend skipping oil base primer when
painting kitchen cabinets.
Next, if you have
stained trim and / or cabinets (or even
painted cabinets) and worry how the colors will look against it, head on over to the
kitchen / cabinet area and find the sample doors with all the different colors.

The before
kitchen did indeed have a lot of white (plus in the photo it was summertime, which didn't hurt), but it also had linoleum countertops, a cheap stainless sink and faucet, white 4 × 4 tiles with vegetables
painted on them, green - and - white checkerboard outlet covers, a weird little
stained glass window tucked awkwardly in a high corner, cheap shelving made from home depot crown molding, and the fridge blocking off the entire room.
As I mentioned in # 1 above, I'm seeing lots more two - toned
kitchens — often upper cabinets are white, and lower cabinets or islands are
painted a color, or
stained.
