After trying several different
paint swatches around the room at different times of the day, I narrowed the living room paint down to 3 possible colours.
Not exact matches
I love that everyday is different, on Monday I might be in the office all day buried under
paint swatches and chandelier options with my shoes off and four cups of coffee on my desk, Tuesday could be an install where I'm driving
around town with my contractor (who is my actual hero), and assembling furniture alongside him, or getting nervous as he drills into a pristine tile wall (even though he has NEVER made a mistake) to hang the new shelving.
There were some cool
swatches to choose from, like
painting with fire, plasma, or rainbows, and it was fun just simply waving your arms
around making weird 3D shapes.
In his newest series, Harpoons for hunting rainbows, he crafts standing totems by wrapping variously colored skeins of yarn
around tree branches and adorns them with braided fabric
swatches and
paint, which is either in the form of dried globules of congealed pigment or freshly applied directly to the branch.
SW is great they will order you a few 8 × 11
swatches to help narrow it down before you
paint samples
around the room.
This looks mighty cute so if you have lots of
paint swatches laying
around, you might want to try this cool DIY project.
If you have an existing colour on the wall, then you have to
paint over it with white before
painting the
swatches OR
paint the colours on art board which you can move
around.
As soon as I got some
swatches painted all
around the house (again) it was like the heavens opened up!
