A gazillion
paint swatches on my living room wall.
Also, I like to
paint swatches on the center part of paper plates (not the real cheapy ones), the cardboard stays sturdy and I almost always have them in the cupboard.

The way I create «flow» is I do not try to match up the
paint swatches because they NEVER look right to me, I just try to select
paint that feels like it will go together, all in my color palette, and then when I try the samples
on the wall, I look from room to room to see if they flow.

Similar to
paint, you can fall in love with a color
on a
swatch, but it can feel totally different when you see it
on a large scale.
And to think I was feeling bad about the ginormous
swatches of
paint on my dining room walls as I try to decide
on a color!
That way you know you won't overdose
on the color, which is easy to do with bright red walls, because the
paint is guaranteed to seem bolder
on the walls than the color
swatch suggests.
If you have an existing colour
on the wall, then you have to
paint over it with white before
painting the
swatches OR
paint the colours
on art board which you can move around.
Cyberspace looked black
on the
paint swatch (as do these F&B
paints) but obviously came out much more navy blue when actually
painted on the cabinets.
Of course, as I'm getting ready to head out the door I happen to notice
on my little
paint swatch strip that the color directly above simply white, stands out a tiny bit brighter in our living room.
Last thing I did was hold up a
